On a side note.. Guess who just moved back to Nashville, started touring again, constantly performs a few of Billy Joels songs live, has a hit with a BJ song, and who brought BJ out as a surprise guest in Central Park? Garth Brooks. I had this thought the minute BJ was announced, and could easily see Garth stepping up for a couple songs. Is it for everyone? No. But it would be huge.

Pixies just announced a North American tour with a 2 week gap around Bonnaroo. They have a show in Brooklyn at the end of May and then they have a show June 18th in Quebec I believe
They just added a date in Cary, NC with Robert Plant on Monday, June 15, with the previous date being June 10 in Chicago. I'd be very surprised if they weren't in the first batch of announcements.
All of the Pixies dates from June 7-17 are openers for Robert Plant. I think we can very much expect them to be added! Sadly this news doesn't do my already clustered Sunday schedule any favors.

I am hoping the Pixies logic applies to Father John Misty as well. He's opening for the Alabama Shakes in Detroit 6/3 then hops around a little bit but has open dates from 6/7 in Toronto to 6/27 in Ireland. He's appeared on a lot of other lineups but based on his 2013 Bonnaroo set, and his new album, I really want him back.
Additionally, J Roddy Walston & the Business blew my mind in 2014 and killed it at both sets at Bonnaroo that year. Just saw 'em last week in Detroit as well and they still kicked ass. They have nothing scheduled from 6/6 to 9/18. Bonnaroo doesn't usually book an artist in back to back years but it'd be sweet, plus their still a lower-billed band so I don't think it is that much of a stretch. Just some wishful thinking.

I couldn't definitely get behind j roddy Walston and the business coming back. I missed them last year (twice). Roo did book capital cities 2013 & 2014 though. So it's possible.
This is a crazy thought, but with Zach de la Rocha recording with Run the Jewels, and Tom Morello recording with Bassnector, what are the chances we could see a RATM reunion? Probably unlikely, but them recording with Roo bands has me very intrigued. Other band members other than de la Rocha have always stated they want Rage back.
As much as this would make my whole weekend... I have to agree that there is a zero percent chance of this happening. They have not been together for quite a while now. The time needed for rehearsing for a big show like roo alone would make me think there is no chance. Not to mention that Zack appears to have no interest in the idea of them getting back together. But hey, what do I know... I'm just a fan.

J Roddy. Highly doubt it. Tour leg is over at start of June, different than gap in schedule. Tons of shows around there Apr/May including Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Louisville 2x, etc etc.
Damn I'll be pissed if Pixies are an addition. Just bought tickets for them and TV on the radio in beautiful Asbury Park. Actually I wouldn't mind, cause conflicts.

To tell the truth I'm in the same boat as you lucidity because I got tickets on Friday to see them in Cincy. However (also like your show) mine is outdoors in May so there's always that chance it gets rained out and then I'm back to needing Bonnaroo to make up for it. Also to complicate matters more there was a Bob Dylan show in Columbus the same date as the Pixies I was contemplating but went the Pixies way for money reasons of all things. Now I may be blowing cash needlessly anyhow.
Yeah I know all signs are against it but still gotta admit it would be crazy awesome. Like Coachella 2008 adds Prince 2 weeks before the festival crazy.

I think there's a greater chance - however unlikely - of Prince being added than any other big name.
Prince is playing a hit and run tour where he announces shows just a week in advance. Just did it in Louisville. I was 4th row Saturday night and it was fantastic. The whole theme of his tour is to not tell anybody till the last minute. Three weeks ago I would never have thought Prince would be in Louisville, but then out of nowhere he's playing 4 shows.
There is precedent for this. When Prince played Coachella in 2008 nobody knew until the last minute - perhaps 2 weeks.
I know that Bonnaroo people denied on Reddit that there were any other big names, but they'd essentially have to say that, even if they knew damn well Prince was going to be there. Would defeat the whole point of hit and run for them to drop it in Reddit months out. Also, I believe that same reddit DID say that they had reached out to Prince.
I am not saying its likely, or even highly probable, but it cannot be dismissed out of hand. There's a chance for certain.
Who makes guacamole happen!?!? Does a tabloid like the University of Oklahoma student paper make guacamole happen or do ME AND YOU make it exist? Just cause they write about it doesn't make guacamole exist - ME AND YOU MAKE IT EXIST!
If Bonnaroo/Prince were to blow minds and announce a show at Roo (I know it almost certainly won't happen), it would make me arguably the happiest person in the world because I'm thinking I'm gonna make the drive up the Stones on the 10th and then drive down to Roo immediately after the show.

All of the hype surrounding Prince is very well deserved. He would be worth every penny to get him at Bonnaroo.
With the lineup so weak and the hefty price increase, you have to wonder. I know they gave an explanation for the price increase on Reddit but still, they aren't going to give you any significant behind-the-scenes business information in a Reddit AMA, especially if it deals with a Prince show. It's not like anyone would be mad if they were lying and Prince was there after all.
Again, I am not saying it's a safe bet, but there is a not insignificant chance.

I'm not getting my hopes up at all. I already had Prince hopes from the rumor mill on this board, so imagine my disappointment when Billy Joel was revealed as #1.

Exact same boat except I have to convince 5 others to do it with me..

Haha, I actually would have to talk 3 others into doing it with me but the thing is that I would rather pay for my own gas up there and drive alone and see the Rolling Stones than make the drive up there with friends. I love my friends, but I will be spending the entire weekend with them at Roo. I already posted in our Facebook group the situation and I told everybody I've got up to 3 spots in my car for the taking if people want to keep me company/see the Stones together before meeting the rest of our friends in Manchester before going into the roo grounds. I'm quite excited, just hoping at least one of my friends is down to do the stones with me because I'll be happy no matter what at that show but I'll be ecstatic if I can share the memory with a friend or two, especially with it segwaying into Bonnaroo. It's a shame there isn't Macca or Prince playing this year because seeing two of the biggest touring acts in the world would just be surreal, just the Stones/Billy Joel combo is hard to wrap my mind around (+ Robert plant, MMJ, Kendrick, Atomic Bomb)

If Prince is playing Bonnaroo on this tour, it's more likely that the promoters don't even know it yet.

That's an excellent point. They still have that 4 million they were going to offer the Grateful Dead sitting around somewhere. I doubt they spent it on this lineup.
But if you want to get especially conspiracy theory about Prince - there IS a great deal of PURPLE in the new webpage design. Could it be a hint that the Purple One is lurking? Probably not. But I've got nothing better to do.

Prince is not playing Bonnaroo. Although, it would be cool if he somehow was announced because maybe then I could finally understand the hype. Heard his live shows are good.

I was not a huge fan before this weekend. I knew he was big, had heard a few songs, and certainly wouldn't miss it since he came so close to home.
What I got was blown away. And he only played about an hour and a half at the show I was at. I have never seen a crowd that jazzed outside of Bonnaroo. Most of the shows I've seen at the palace the crowd just sits there or stands calmly. This crowd was insane.
He has amazing stage presence. His band is awesome. His drummer is from Louisville and did an insane drum solo.
By far one of the best shows I have ever seen. If I could have bought two tix to any other show of the weekend I would have done so right then.
If you ever get the chance to see Prince, spare no expense. Make it happen.
