I just can't help but think that after the publicity (thanksgiving special) Roo got last year that they would follow it up with something this weak. Also, this was wayyyy early to announce their lineup. Dont get me wrong, I love most of the lineup, but compared to last year there are some major holes. I get that they haven't announced comedians and cafe acts and DJ's and all that shit, but I bet were in for more big name undercard acts than normally released after the initial release. Thats my opinion.
You're just not saying anything that hasn't been said by about 100 other people. Whether or not it's happening this thread is useless. There's already the Artist Additions thread that was linked earlier and this subject has been discussed in a couple other threads as well. Keep up
I'm still learning how to keep up. This shit is hard to master.
1/30: Cold War Kids
2/6: Cherub
4/22: The Mountain Goats
5/25: Laura Jane Grace "Killing Me Loudly"
5/31: The Decemberists
6/11-6/14: BONNAROO 2015
6/28: Against Me!
6/30: Against Me!
There will be some additions to the full line-up. There's never been more than about 15 typically spread out in clusters between 1-6 names leading up through May.
There will also be:
10-20 comedians added 10-20 DJs added for the Silent Disco and, 30-40 cafe acts.
There's the rest of your lineup.
I've done Bonnaroo before. I also gave y'all the headliners + about 10 other acts about 2 months ago, so don't sass me.
I'm confused about being right on every band except for Alt-J and Modest Mouse, which I'm assuming are being announced in the near future (and holding out hope for Matt and Kim still).
Congratulations on knowing somebody who knows somebody.

It's actually me knowing somebody, who knows somebody, who knows somebody.
But thanks!

It's also possible that the extra publicity was used to persuade more people to buy pre-sale tickets because they knew the lineup would be perceived as weaker than previous years' lineups. Additionally, releasing the lineup a month early gives them an extra month for ticket sales.

That would be real low.
Eh, they're in the business of making money, so I wouldn't entirely put it past them. People love to think of Bonnaroo as some utopia and believe that AC and Co. always have our best interests/desires in mind, but in the end it's important to remember that AC/Superfly is still a business.

But on a happier note, you've got Noel Gallagher who announced dates today as well up to Governors Ball. He's heading off to Europe for the 19th. Still a chance I think..
Has anyone noticed that last year (excluding superjams) Roo had about 190 bands on the lineup, and right now there are just under 100? I'm feeling a serious undercard release in February that's going to fill in alot of missing spaces with bands we had all hoped would be on this initial lineup release. If this has already been discussed, sorry, I didn't feel like catching up after a week of inactivity.
I just put all of the announced artists into my schedule template from last year, and I was left with 8 blanks on Thursday and 8 more blanks on Fri-Sun (combined). That's just the What/Which/Tents (not Sonic Stage, Cafe Where, etc.).
Of course there is a ton of guessing in this exercise, but unless I'm missing something completely obvious, we're in for a lot of artist additions PLUS comedy acts, cafes, etc.
Last year, for the initial lineup, no comedy or cafe, we had 120 acts.

I refuse to give up hope that we get D'Angelo. That new album is incredible.
I hope. I was a bit heartbroken when he had to cancel his performance at ACL a couple of years ago. I was also a bit let down about the Outside Lands cancellation even though I wasn't going. They had that stage set up perfectly with him, Rhye, and Jessie Ware all on the same day. I still blow people away sometimes when I tell them I saw D'Angelo's first show back from hiatus. When they ask me where this happened, I just tell them on a farm in Tennessee with Questlove.

I just saw Of Montreal and they were amazing. Music sounded great and they had performance artist on stage with them. Very psychadelic and it was most awesome weirdness I have ever seen happen on stage. They have a new album coming out and I am really surprised they havnt been on any festival lineups this year.

Who makes guacamole happen!?!? Does a tabloid like the University of Oklahoma student paper make guacamole happen or do ME AND YOU make it exist? Just cause they write about it doesn't make guacamole exist - ME AND YOU MAKE IT EXIST!
