I refuse to give up hope that we get D'Angelo. That new album is incredible.
I hope. I was a bit heartbroken when he had to cancel his performance at ACL a couple of years ago. I was also a bit let down about the Outside Lands cancellation even though I wasn't going. They had that stage set up perfectly with him, Rhye, and Jessie Ware all on the same day. I still blow people away sometimes when I tell them I saw D'Angelo's first show back from hiatus. When they ask me where this happened, I just tell them on a farm in Tennessee with Questlove.
We have interwoven fates my friend. I also live in the lone star state and was super bummed about the ACL cancellation. Not sure how the crowd would've responded to him anyway, but I'm pessimistic about ACL crowds. That superjam is a saving grace though.
He just announced a NY show at the Apollo and a guest spot on SNL on the 31st of this month (fucking cool). As well as his European tour from February through March, but right now no US tour dates.
I don't know if this has been mentioned (feel free to flog me if it has), but anyone think that Counterpoint and Bonnaroo have some sort of NDA with regards to cross-over artists? Now that they've moved CP to memorial day weekend, it would fall within the radius clause. Many of the first wave "confirmed" acts for Bonnaroo (RL Grime, Ilovemakkonen or whatever his name is) have popped up on the CP lineup. Perhaps this is why they leaked in the first place? Just a thought.

I considered this too. It's weird that ILoveMakonnen and RL Grime would confirm Roo appearances but fail to pop up on the lineup. Seems like Counterpoint got the short-end of the stick with acts.

IIRC, they also had a deal last year to be the first Outkast announcement, so they've used the business tactic before.

Coachella announced Outkast first. I can't remember which festival announced Outkast afterward, I remember Hangout, Sasquatch, Gov Ball, and CP all releasing lineups around the same time.
This year is apparently the Year of Redemption for cancelled acts from a few years ago... let's get Earl Sweatshirt back to make up for him cancelling (and ruining my weekend, DAMNIT).
but yeah let's get the BasedGod all up on this lineup. I don't care if it's just you and I at his set, IT'S WORTH IT.

Ok, sooooo, I was talking to a friend a couple months back and I was saying how I don't really "get" lil b, his music just doesn't really appeal to me. And then he said, "but you went and saw the Pack back when they got big!" With a confused look on my face, I asked what in the world that has to do with Lil B... That day I learned that I had seen the Based God or whatever y'all call him. We all know he isn't going to be on the additions list be cause bonnaroo isn't that hip but I hope he is just for y'all cause he's a rare show and I know y'all really want to see him.

Now that Graveyard has announced they will be opening for Mastodon for their U.S. spring tour, it would be a missed opportunity if Bonnaroo did not add them.

But..... Mastodon was last year. While I haven't looked at the tour dates its a Mastodon/Clutch/Graveyard line up and nobody is on this years line up.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
They usually just post an update on their website and social media accounts.
last year they added an artist to the spotify playlist every 5 minutes or so
Was that like an official announced thing where they said to watch the spotify plalist? Or did people notice it because Bonnaroo was getting their playlist ready for when they released the artists on their sites? I don't remember but that could just be coincidence.
What are the chances of Major Lazer or Thievery Corporation? They're not too big to be additions, right?
Since the lineup is very heavy on electronic music, I think if they do decide to add big names to the lineup, they won't add anymore electronic artists.
I am convinced that Shakey Knees is booking bands earlier than Bonnaroo, which may prevent many if the band's playing Shakey Knees to play Bonnaroo since it is a month before and in proximity of Manchester. There is one artist that overlaps between both fests (Mac Demarco)this year. Thoughts?

Dude I hope it's just you and I at his set. You know how fun that would be?
