last year they added an artist to the spotify playlist every 5 minutes or so
Was that like an official announced thing where they said to watch the spotify plalist? Or did people notice it because Bonnaroo was getting their playlist ready for when they released the artists on their sites? I don't remember but that could just be coincidence.

Ahhh, just found some posts about it from around that time. The cafe/club acts were done through them adding people to spotify but the main stage additions were announced on the site. I think it'll be the same/similar this year with them making the bigger name announcements through social media or their website. We'll see though. Already looking forward to who gets added.
Portugal the Man Afghan Whigs Tame Impala Violent Femmes Interpol
Would all be good additions for my tastes.
I could be wrong, but I thought Interpol was out. And I know for a fact Afghan Whigs are out. I know David Rosser, their guitarist and they're touring in Europe/overseas and not in the US.

Yeah, Interpol was ruled out a long time ago (they were among the first acts announced for NorthSide), but they keep popping up in this thread.
ML have gotten significantly worse since 2012. This can be attributed to Diplo's sharp decline in quality.
Agree with this. But I would welcome him back because I had so much fun the first time.
Can't disagree, Diplo has spread himself waaaaay too thin, but ML still has a unique sound/performance that other producers haven't really replicated.
Don't get me wrong. There will be unadulterated shit in his set ("Fight Night" - Migos comes to mind). I still feel that the show, as a whole, would be incredible.

That's sounds just about right. The cafe acts actually put it over the top for me. The Orwells and speedy Ortiz were 2 of my favorite bands last year.
Really though has bonnaroo ever added someone major after the initial release, besides Empire Of The Sun?
Empire of the Sun is major?
I guess that statement was kind of bias just because i usually don't care for any of the additions since I started attending Bonnaroo. Empire and Santigold are the only ones I can even remember, and I didn't even know Santigold was an addition tell someone pointed it out to me on here.

I think Empire of the Sun is a pretty weak example but in the past they have added some decent/interesting/bigger artists such as Danzig, Billy Idol, Alice Cooper, Kenny Rogers, GZA performing Liquid Swords, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, and a bunch of other pretty decent bands

Fair enough... just having a little fun while bored at work. In reality, if an addition is someone you want to see, then it is major for you...screw everyone else!

Yeah pretty sure Billy Idol was a clue that year.
Ok so I messed up on one. The point is still there though no? Decent named acts are often added later.

Oh good someone else who likes Violent Femmes! I've wanted to see them and Rusted Root for years. In particular, I want to hear Add It Up and Blister in the Sun live.

I too would like to see the Femmes on the farm. However try The Growlers--I believe they cover both songs. Maybe they will play one of them.
Plus, the Growlers are great themselves and quite a hard act to see live. But I've seen the femmes and they performed their entire self titled album in order from front to back and then played some of their bigger songs off other albums. It was GREAT getting to sing a dance along. I never thought I'd get to see them live, much less listen to that entire album live.
Sufjan would end his tour right before Roo and not even play Tennessee at all. What a kick in the nuts.
Yep - I'm bummed but not at all surprised. I'm just gonna make sure to catch at least one of his shows on the east coast; it'll be better in that setting anyway (I'm just saying that...of course I would've fucking loved him at roo).
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I haven't see violent femmes live since the nineties, BUT I just bought tickets to see Lost Bayou Ramblers with Gordan Gano from the femmes. Last time I saw them was at Voodoo and they actually played some femmes. So that's what I'm hoping for again.
