I still don't think Spoon is big enough to close the Which Stage. I really must look at closing the Which Stage as a higher accomplishment than some of you. It's not a slight against Flo+The Machine, I just think they're the only band BIG ENOUGH playing Sunday to close the Which that makes sense... not that they're not "big" enough for What Stage (which is sporadically attended during a lot of day shows). I can't see Robert Plant closing the Which, either, they usually use bands with more recent success and I think having him right before Billy Joel is something they can sell a lot of one-day tickets to the older crowd with. The Strokes, The Shins, and Wiz Khalifa are not below "her" level of popularity.
And no, I did not attend her 2011 show but I passed by it (I was just bouncing around during that day) and it wasn't that overcrowded for a Tent show. The Which Stage is far more capable of holding big crowds than people give it credit for. When you put almost anyone against 3 tent closers and Robert Plant, you can divert enough of the crowd to make it not THAT bad. There are very few instances of the Which Stage being over crowded and I can't think of any for a Sunday closer.
(EDIT: I didn't realize that Spoon reached 4th on the charts with their last two albums. That definitely adds more to the case that they're "big" enough to close the Which, even though you can't compare their success to any band that's closed the Which since 2011. Still think Flo will be closing Which BECAUSE they're so big.)

I can't see Robert Plant playing Which Stage at all and see it almost as a given that he'll open for Billy Joel. I'd also definitely wager that it'll be Florence and The Machine closing the Which Stage. Will it be crowded? Yes, but not nearly as people are implying if they play while Caribou, 21 Pilots, and the Bluegrass Superjam all close tents around the same time. I put Flo+The Machine right on the same level of popularity as The Strokes, The Shins, and Wiz. Spoon is a little bit behind those groups and, even though I love them, I don't think they're big enough to close Which. Having them open for Flo or Robert Plant makes the most sense for them.
No. Nonononono. Caribou and Flo are probably going to be playing at the same time. I hadn't thought of that before. =(
I'll hope against hope that it's Flo>Plant>BJ on What and that Caribou will close a tent while Plant's on the main stage. Yea, that's it.

If you have never been to a Florence festival show please stop talking about her on the which. Her crowd will be a top five crowd all weekend regardless of whose she is up against. Florence is the most popular act on Sunday and her crowd will be the largest of Sunday by far. She is subbing on the what. Move on!
Florence>Joel Spoon>Plant AWOL into 21 at big tent.
May Tycho May Phoenix June Rooo July MMJ and Margo Price August Queen with Adam Lambert August Roger Waters (Bucket list #1) August Spoon and Portugal the man Sept Depeche Mode Sept Pilgrimage Fest
Her crowd in 2011 is the reason she won't be on the which. Nothing else is relevant. i have a feeling you weren't there for it. She was a rookie, it was 4 years ago, she's huge. Plant doesn't need to take a spot from her, it's pointless in 2015.
If you're going to argue that previous scheduling is relevant, then you're arguing against your point. Robert Plant always plays pre-HL What on Sunday when he's at Bonnaroo...

Agreed. There is no way Florence gets the What over Robert Plant. I feel like that's obvious.

My point is, it's progress. As I said earlier, I think Plant will be on the What, but he'll be before Florence. Just like the 2010 slot for Fogerty before Zack Brown.

Hm I think the fact that Flo has 2nd most adds of anybody on the lineup page is also relevant. But says the same thing. No way she's anywhere else than What stage right before Billy Joel.
^ I think you're right about Plant. That puts Spoon closing Which which makes more sense than anything else on Sunday. They've got a big following and have been around for a long time. Makes enough sense

Except for the fact that Pixies are gonna get added to Sunday and they will Close the Which with Spoon playing right before them.

This is exactly how I am hoping it will go down and you kinda solidified the logistics of it. if it goes this way sunday will be a breeze for me Riff Raff, Gibbs, Plant and Joel are the only priorities for me. And that actually sounds wonderful.

I don't wanna be a dick or a downer, I just don't want you to go postal when the lineup comes out, but I'm thinking that Plant/Gibbs may conflict or Gibbs will start immediately after Plant. Just saying

Excuse me but do you have any reasoning for that? Last year Ferg played a day time set on sunday and it was fuckin sick. Him playing at the same time as Plant makes very little sense to muah. IM JUST SAYIN

The Pixies should not be closing a stage in 2015. They probably shouldn't even close a tent, honestly.

Haha, ok buddy. If they had been constantly playing since they started, I could see the argument, but they indeed could close the Which if they play this year. If you think that Spoon is gonna close the Which but you don't think the Pixies could, we will just have to agree to disagree but I we obviously view the bands very differently.

I love that band, but I just don't see them as the draw they once were. Its not like this is their big reunion tour, its one of many tours since they reunited 11 years ago and its without Kim Deal. I certainly could be wrong, but I don't think theyd close the stage.

I totally get what you're saying, I really just can't see them in a tent. One reason is that one of the artists most likely to close a tent is Caribou and I just can not compare Caribou and Pixies and say they're on the same level. I could see them playing a bit earlier in the day maybe but I just can't imagine putting em in a tent
Honest question, what has Florence been doing since that Dog Days song in 2011? I'm pretty out of the loop on her
Not much really. Other than releasing another critically well-received album that sold 2+ million copies and a handful of other charting singles. Oh, and she's headlined a couple of Euro fests and was billed in the top 6 at Lolla and ACL in 2012.
All of this Sunday schedule discussion is pretty pointless.
If you have any brains at all, you'll be at the Bluegrass Situation. The first year was cool, last year was awesome, and this year looks even better.
No way, Caribou will blow that show away, there's no shortage of bluegrass on the farm this year. BUT, there are, few if any, acts that can compare to Caribou's kickass show

Jerry Douglass, Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Chris Thile, Sturgill Simpson, and whatever special guest (probably Robert Plant) they pull this year? I don't think Caribou will feature the top 4 artist in their genre on stage together for one show only...
Enjoy Caribou. I'll catch them literally anywhere else.
