I know Reddit is far from a definitive source, but someone said on the Roo subreddit that Bassnectar's management doesn't let him play over two hours. Given some of his questionable actions and decisions, I could see that being true.
def not true, he played an hour and a half at tomorrowworld last year, i know that for a fact
First: #allstar Second: Link to this (mis)info? Third: Can a mod please change the name of this thread to Six Hour Bass Neck Tire Fire?

calling me an #allstar? lol i kinda misread it, it was stated he doesn't play 2 hours. so what would that have to do with reducing his set time from 1.5 to 1.25

I'm sure what happened is that Bonnaroo - the overly prepared festival that they are - requested that all the DJs send in the audio track of their live show. You know, the one you hear when they come on stage and press play. Bonnaroo just wanted to make sure that it was all loaded up for them, which I think is pretty nice of them. However, they noticed that Bassnectar had submitted a shorter mp3 than expected, and simply fixed the schedule.

sarcasm, but sadly at this point (not that he is correct in the slightest, think he was being sarcastic as well) it's the only thing we have that is using any sort of logic.
but still.......he didn't send in an mp3 lol, knock it off

It's only 128kb/s too. Mono.
my understanding is its a Real Audio file as well.

Damnit guys don't make me defend Bassnectar. Because let's be honest, if you want to attack a producer for button pushing, Bassnectar is about at the bottom of the list. He's very well known for consistently delivering a unique set every time he plays. Not to mention super talented, whether you're a fan of "bass music" or not.

it was just her giving me a hard time, calm down bud. we do actually have the pleasure of 2 of the most non "typical" button pushers headlining this year. pretty sweet

What if no one plays a surprise set on the Kalliope? Skrillex's set with Mija last year was completely spontaneous. Heres the full story on how that happened: edm.com/articles/2014-07-09/Mija-b2b-Skrillex-Bonnaroo Unless that inspired Bonnaroo to start a new tradition and they ask an artist to repeat that surprise set from last year it probably won't happen again.

First the rumor was false. Bassnectar played "90 minutes".
Second, I've been missing Bassnectar at festivals for years. I'm not a huge fan but like his stuff and his attitude, and even though the superjam was going on at the same time I decided to finally catch an entire Bassnectar set. Overall it was a lot of fun, which I expected. What I didn't expect was it was pretty beautiful and strangely uplifting and life affirming. The visuals were really quite artistic and lovely, as opposed to just alien heads and hearts or whatever you normally see at big name edm shows. I danced my ass off and had a blast. Would see again.
Did try to walk over to the superjam afterwards but it was packed out, as expected, made even more crowded since I was walking to the superjam with a massive crowd leaving bassnectar. Walked over to Flume and that crowd was really packed out as well.
