Completely disregarding that dude's tweet, I still think D'Angelo is a logical headliner. He is playing SOMEWHERE Stateside in July and August. Why not Pitchfork?

I really hope D'Angelo is there...Black Messiah was amazing!! And since I am missing Roo this year I am hoping for some strong names at Pitchfork. Hopefully Spoon is there as well.
Yeah, I unfollowed that guy. I remember following him last year when he was revealing a Lolla artist a day but really, he's just browsing the same sites we are and making the same predictions we are but claiming he talks to "industry sources".

Spoon already headlined in 2008. Granted the fest was smaller then, but they just subbed the second biggest stage at Lollapalooza last year and 2010 (they were amazing that year), so I think it'd be reasonable to give them another headliner slot.

Kind of surprised Pitchfork hasn't made an announcement yet. It feels like this time the last few years, they had already started to announce their headliners at least. And with every other festival announcing their lineup early this year, its kind of odd. That being said, I could see Pfork getting Spoon or Modest Mouse to headline and maybe Sufjan Stevens. Even though he is playing Chi-town in April, he is a Pitchfork favorite and they would totally jump at the chance to get him. Same with D'Angelo as a headliner.
Beyond that, It would be great if they could pull out something special like Todd Terje & his band The Olsens to perform a live set. Also, any kind of Ty Segall band/side project would be welcome.
If I lived nearby, I'd be all over a Sunday day pass. RTJ, Caribou, Jamie xx, MadGibbs, Courtney Barnett, Waxahatchee, SOPHIE, Clark, HTDW, Viet Cong is a GREAT day for a festival.

I've never been to P4K fest but they always seem to book the interesting electronic acts in the middle of the afternoon. There is an unintentionally hilarious video on youtube of evian christ playing dark, jagged techno in broad daylight last year, the crowd had no idea what to do. Maybe sophie/ag cook won't be quite as weird, but I would rather see them in a club or at least later at night
how would one make it from eaux claires to chicago in a timely enough fashion to do that? serious question.
I'm in Milwaukee so if I leave EC right after the music ends I'd be home by like 3:30 or 4:00 and can just leave for Pitchfork at like Noon or whatever.
that's ambitious. I would be absolutely dead from that, but power to ya if you make that work!
