Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm making a new tab every 4 days up until Roo (hopefully I can hold myself to that, more or less), so I'll try to get some info to y'all about whose crowds are growing & shrinking as time passes. Kind of a pain to hover, go back to Excel, type, go back to the site over & over again, but such is the way of things.
Why not open both at once? That trick got me through college.

Still the toggling...I often don't do the split screen thing so I can just focus on one thing at a time, but my computer habits are weird compared to most folks. For example, I never learned how to type properly and get by typing pretty well with just my right hand. And I refuse to learn proper technique.

Weekly would be good. No need to drive yourself crazier then necessary lol.

One handed typing is an important skill in the internet age.

One of the girls at work has mastered two finger typing... Like 50 wpm. Crazy.

I only have one hand and I usually only use my pointer finger and thumb and, if I'm on a touch screen device like an iPad, I'm not far off of 50 wpm. Real, classic keyboards are another story, I'm not comfortable typing on them yet because I am always just on my iPad.
I mainly two finger type as well, I just did a test and managed 53 wpm. Fuck yeah.
That is impressive. Just imagine how fast you would type if you typed with all your fingers.
Did it again and got up to 63! yeah, I should try to teach myself. Just been typing this way for years and have gotten pretty efficient with it. Only problem is I tend to do typos, but i can go back and fix them quickly

I had to learn in college, it was part of the grade. First semester it was 40 and then 60. I type pretty much everyday but not like I used to. When I was in that class I was 120 with 95% accuracy. I am probably closer to 80 and 80% accuracy. Mostly due to lack of really typing and laziness.

Over the past month, I've extrapolated the size of each artists' crowd and have also been tracking the changes in these predictions. I think it's fun to quantify how many future people each artist gains or loses when averaged out on a daily basis. While I also measure this change relative to the crowd sizes to get a percentage-change prediction too, I figured I'd share the Top 20 & Bottom 20 artists. To interpret the numbers, the estimated crowd at each show grows or shrinks by that number of people each day (based on this first month).

I love these numbers and I can't really explain why. Great thread dude.
It's interesting (though fairly straightforward) to see a bunch of super buzzy bands in the growing audiences category. The few that I didn't expect to see on there are Tycho, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Gramatik.
I'm more intrigued by the shrinking audience category. A lot of the data is reflected in the Lineup vs. Popularity original post, but some of those are very surprising. Case in point Bleachers, they seem like they SHOULD be buzzy, the album did well and they have some radio play. I wonder what factors land you in that category.
EDIT: Uggggghhhhhh the ODESZA crowd is going to be a nightmare.

Bump.
Here's updates on rates of crowd growth & decay (or shrinkage if you will) as of 3/5. Again, these numbers show the rate of change of predicted Bonnaroo crowd size per day:
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Bump. They did it slyly, but AC/SF moved ODESZA from between Against Me! and SOJA to between MSMW & Run the Jewels on the By-Day schedule, representing a 14-artist lineup jump. Interesting that they didn't change their position in the Headliners First list. Now I dunno what to do, man.
Side note: I know the By-Day thing is new, but has Roo ever moved artists around on an announced lineup poster before? I'm thinking yes, but I can't recall a specific example, nor did I do a full-on OCD analysis in the past.
Other side note: Glass Animals is no longer the biggest Thursday show. Tove Lo is.

Did Kendrick jump up a bit since his album release? His numbers seem a bit higher compared to what they were before.
Kendrick has jumped a little bit in the past week.
On 3/19 he had 8,962 adds out of 16,149 (predicted crowd = 44,397 out of 80,000). Today he has 9,458 adds out of 16,981 (predicted crowd = 44,558 out of 80,000).
Assuming none of the other folks changed their schedules (unlikely, but whatever), out of the 832 people who created schedules in those 6 days, 496 added Kendrick to theirs. This is 59.6% compared to 55.5% before the album dropped. Cool huh?
1/30: Cold War Kids
2/6: Cherub
4/22: The Mountain Goats
5/25: Laura Jane Grace "Killing Me Loudly"
5/31: The Decemberists
6/11-6/14: BONNAROO 2015
6/28: Against Me!
6/30: Against Me!

I've thrown together a couple quick categories based on this info & macmusicjunkie's post at the top of this page. These artists would basically need to be on What or Which Stage or shit will get real fucking crowded.
Necessarily gets What Stage: Mumford & Sons * Florence + The Machine * Billy Joel * Kendrick Lamar * Childish Gambino * Deadmau5
Necessarily gets a Stage (Which or What): Earth Wind & Fire * Hozier * Bassnectar * Alabama Shakes * Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters * Awolnation * My Morning Jacket * Flume
Anyone after that could play a stage, but they could also play primetime (sunset or latenight) in a tent.
Most interesting for me is Earth Wind and Fire, especially knowing that they're LN. They're not that high on the lineup, but given how many adds they have, it looks like they'll likely play LN Which Friday night.

This. If they put Earth, Wind, & Fire in tent then we might have a situation like the Ben Harper/?uestlove/JPJ Superjam in '07 where if you're far enough back, you can't hear a thing. I wouldn't put it past Roo to do this unfortunately.

I bet it's gonna continue to be fun to watch D'Angelo tear ass through the undercard. And ODESZA is still adding about 42 "virtual people" to their crowd daily.
Also, now that we have the daily schedule I can look at the daily rate at which each artist's predicted crowd is changing and average it out across all artists on that day. This gives an idea of how many more people show up at an average show on each day. Currently these numbers are:
Thursday is WAY higher, showing overall discovery of Thursday bands I guess? But way more so than the other days? I wonder if these numbers relate at all to the number of day tickets sold.
