I think the only thing you can say about the Coastal is there is no "definitely" anything. I think we have a good shot to beat Duke.
I got home from the Pitt game 4 hours ago (I drive 3 hours each way for every game). Headin into work now!
It was the first time I've seen Pitt this year and I really only watched the first half. I wasn't very impressed. UNC looks a lot better than I thought they were. They look like they should win that division. Duke is pretty good but I haven't really seen them play much.

Yeah we were terrible in the 1st half. Second half much different story, our defense made good adjustments at half which we always seem to do. I thought the fumble in the second quarter was an awful call, he was bobbling the ball from what I could see from my seats and on the big screen and never had control. They scored like 3 plays later, that was killer.
Also UNC was a team that committed 13 penalties for 135 yards last week and somehow didn't have a penalty called on them until like 4 minutes left in the game. I've been less than impressed with ACC officiating. We haven't had one replay go our way this year, it's infuriating. I hate complaining about the refs but the numbers speak for themselves.

Looking forward to the Florida/UGA game...winner has the SEC East. If Florida can get the W they should be able to get to 10-1 going into the season finale against FSU.
Gunner Kiel went 15/15 today with 5 TD passes. That's pretty crazy, even against the worse team in FBS.
Is Richt done? His seat never quite cools down, but it seems especially hot for the end of October.
He's definitely seeing a lot more heat this year than most. Mostly over the quarterback situation. We've never been this bad at that position. If he can survive until next year I think that all changes with Eason coming in January.

They can't fire Richt, who will they get that is demonstrably better? I think there are 8 open FBS jobs right now? Every single one of them would hire him if they could ($$ wise). Especially his alma mater (though they probably don't have Richt money).
I had seen that on Facebook maybe from you and/or SFA's family. It brings up solid points, but there are people who have wanted him fired for years despite all that. The amount of hate he gets from his own fanbase is amazing.

There are certain games he just has to win...FL is one of them. I don't think he needs to go but we always seem to fall really really short in the big games. That has to change

Trust me. I know all about Florida being a tough loss. There were an embarrassing amount of people seeking to fire Jones after we lost to them.

You're cute thinking that people think this far in the future.
Georgia is a little different from the other SEC schools and yes, I think they are. If they haven't fired him in the past (however many times it was bantered about), I can't believe it will be this year. Especially because this looks to be a bad year to fire a coach with so many jobs opening.

They haven't fired him in the past because he has never had a really terrible year to justify it. Even this year, the absolute worst I can see them doing is going 7-5, and that's a disaster scenario. I think he's just falling victim to that long term coaching tenure trap where the fanbase gets accustomed to a certain level of success and refuse to accept anything less. You probably remember people bitching when Fulmer went 9-3. Those same people would probably sell one of their kids for a 9-3 season now. I am by no means saying Richt is gone. He seemingly weathers a storm every year. It just feels different this year.
Hey, how about those Pitt Panthers? Sitting at 4-1 (2-0 ACC) with the next three games Estuary Jones Tech, @syracuse, UNC at home. Could be 6-2 or (gulp) 7-1 heading into the Nov 7 showdown in Pittsburgh vs. Notre Dame.
The Narduzzi effect on defense is palpable. We lead the nation in sacks after being 102nd last year, and our defensive numbers are up all over the board. Our offense is doing ok with Peterman at QB. Would be nice to have the reigning ACC Offensive Player of the Year back there.
Thinking of making my plans to tailgate in Charlotte the first weekend of December with custeph and sang_xcx to prepare for Clemson slaughtering Pitt in the ACC Championship.
If I had to pick the favorite from that division to be playing in Charlotte against Clemson it would be Pitt, but it's wide open. One thing going in their favor is that they finish the season with back-to-back home games, while Duke/UNC finish with back-to-back road games. Was at the Pitt/VT game, I was impressed with Pittsburgh defense. We had that one TD drive in the first half in which Motley had a 20+yd run and a 20+yd pass....other than that we didn't have a play go over 12 yards. Our offense is far from Baylor, but it's not that bad (put up 4 TD's against NC State/ECU, had a field day against Purdue.)
Everybody in my family except me is a ND fan, so I have watched them a few times this year...wouldn't be surprised if you guys took them down. The key to beating them is stopping the run game/Prosise. He is averaging 7 yards a carry, every game that he has been the starter (which is all besides week 1) he has 150 yards or more.
Temple/ND tied in the 4th quarter...Prosise hasn't been able to get it going all night. QB has been scrambling, but also throwing some picks. I know there are some Pitt fans on here. Shut down the running game on Saturday and you will have a chance in the end.
