I think Les Miles is a terrible coach, but if they've kept him this long why fire him now? This year would literally be the worst year to fire him with all of the openings in the game, and firing a guy who has won as much as Miles won't make your job look any more attractive...
Can you be a terrible coach and win that much? I mean there's only 2 guys that have won more than him the last 10 years. Who could they get that would win more? It's similar to the Richt situation. You say you want to fire him, but be careful what you wish for.
In college football I think you can win that much and be a terrible coach. He has a ton of talent and a 2 loss national champion (read: lucky) to show for it.
One of my roommates at Tennessee went to LSU undergrad and is from New Orleans. We watched together on December 1, 2007 as LSU barely beat Tennessee in the SEC Championship (the game where Miles was shutting down Michigan rumors before the game), and then we watched LSU back their way into the championship as #1 Mizzou lost to Oklahoma in the Big XII Championship and my beloved Pitt Panthers shocked the world by beating the hated WVU Mountaineers 13-9, a day that will live in infamy in Morgantown for the rest of our lives and there won't be a day that I don't mention it to someone. But my LSU grad roommate, "Fun Ass" Timmy Cagle, knows that he has Pitt to thank for his championship that year.
Boy was that a tangent. And since I brought it up, the sweet, sweet sounds of Rich Rod's press conference where you can hear the jubilant Pitt locker room in the background:

I went to every UT game in 07, and that SEC game was the most heartbreaking. Man I was near the LSU end zone, and you could see that pic coming a mile away. Ainge stared down that receiver and it was obvious the DB got the jump on the route.
I digress. LSU be dumb to fire Les Miles. Hes got a .780 winning percentage there over 10 seasons in the hardest division in CFB.

Is that the year Clemson beat Tennessee's ass in the Peach Bowl? I think LSU just needs a QB. Why do they have so much trouble finding a QB?

no, that was the year we beat wisconsin in the outback bowl.
the clemson-ut peach bowl was for the 2003 season.
I get to go to my first UGA Game in several years this weekend. And they're playing Georgia Southern which is where we went to school so it's even more awesome. The only issue is it's a night game and is going to be cold AF

National writers have mentioned that Virginia Tech is going to be the first domino to fall search-wise, and my Mizzou friends tell me that Fuente has turned down unofficial overtures because he wants the Tech job.
Let's burn the defensive coordinator at the stake! Clearly losing the best defensive player in the country to injury and then the next SIX players through out the season at the position and then not being able to stop anyone is his fault. (Our starting MLB in today's game is a 220 lbs walkon who started the season as a second string special teams player).
This has just been a cursed season and I sure am glad it is over (one of the reasons it was cursed is next week is our bye week) [yes technically not over because we will get some no name bowl]{are we allowed to take the extra practices and then just forfeit the game?}.
To give some credit, he may not be doing much this year, but I do think your QB is going to be an issue in the coming seasons. Like McElwain, whoever takes over for Pinkel has some potential to do some damage quick.
Was at Auburn-Idaho. My first college game ever! And we won and are bowl eligible! It was great and I really wanna do it again next year. Maybe meet some of you crazy cats. Wanna do Clemson and at least one SEC game.

That could be said of basically our entire offense.

I'd be surprised if Rich Rod ends up at VT. That job seems to be pretty coveted. If you told me Rich Rod would go to South Carolina, that would be less surprising. He's a guy who wins because of his system, not his recruiting, and South Carolina seems to be a decent fit for that type of coach.
And I do think Les Miles is going to leave, which is unbelievable to me. Every opening, bar maybe USC, should be calling that guy. Same with Richt, which also (unbelievably) seems likely to happen.
I'm writing a coaching search primer for all of my Mizzou friends, maybe I'll post it in full here.
I had a lot of fun hanging out with everyone yesterday. Go Tigers and Pawl, Roll Damn Tide!
So I may have already said this. Before the season started when I looked at Clemson's schedule I thought we could win all of them. But I think it would actually happen. So in my actual prediction I picked to lose twice. This year has just felt different. I've been really confident in every game, even ND and FSU. We've struggled putting some games away and made a few games too close, but I've never felt like we were going to lose a game. I'm excited for us to get into the playoff and see what happens.

Heyyy war eagle! Glad you got a fun game to go to. This will sound like crazy talk but the big SEC match ups at Jordan Hare are even more fun.
Auburn opens their season at home against Clemson next year. That could be two birds with one stone for you. And a good Inforoo tailgate opportunity what with our other Tigers on the board.
