If you were worried about jaz being 'voted straight off' (after multiple run offs) and wanted an extension on a tie rather than voting out potent at the last minute, a null vote would have worked, right?
It would have been a tie and guaranteed the extension you thought you achieved with your late vote.
Or I was going to end up voting for Potent anyway so I could've saved the hassle and did it the way I did it
If you were going to end up voting for me why wouldn't you have done it earlier? Makes you look even more suspicious.

That is the question we will ask going into day two.
Also if you want to just say "Hey, I haven't been keeping up with the thread", and then move your vote to Potent, that's perfectly fine too.
Hey, I haven't been keeping up with the thread. Based on what I had read up to I'd rather Potent be voted off with you, but I'll go over the threas again to make sure.
I don't think Jaz or Potent is mafia, and thus I just kind of want this Day to be over so we can move on and have more info, etc. When did the extension move to now?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

You want to correct that like it is readable? You can correct a quote of your post by explaining. What did you mea when you said "I'd rather Potent be voted off with you, but I'll go over the threas again to make sure."
I'm pretty sure 'threas' means 'thread'. So you went over the thread and have a solid reason to move your vote after all that evil switching you referenced earlier.
Now, the first part: "I'd rather Potent be voted off with you". 'You', referring to jaz. I'm voting for him but don't see your point.

To those who have voted for Jaz in this runoff - I don't know whether he is mafia (though I am a bit more skeptical after he pleaded with Jim, Jim acquiesced, and then Jaz disappeared).
To those who have voted for me - you're flat out wrong. I'm not mafia. If you play the rest of the game as if I am mafia, the town will lose. There's nothing I can say to save myself, I get it.
To all - I have enjoyed this extremely active Day 1, I'm sorry to be leaving because I enjoy playing, and I'm a townie and I want the town to win. Though I do wish that you would have let me be voted off 5 days ago.
I've actually been manically going through the entire thread since I began posting tonight. I currently have a word document with tallys/votes/quotes running on 6+ pages. I'm trying to figure out why people are voting the way they are. I think I've been pretty transparent this whole game. I'm concerned, however, that many players have not been.

if you have any questions i can clarify before the extension is done, please let me know. i've been as transparent as possible.
i have to go to bed now and will be getting up early to go to philly in the morning but i will try to answer if i can.
After reviewing this whole monstrosity of a thread, I can't come up with a logical theory as to why Jazmo would be more worthy of my vote right now. I'm going to stick where I am.

Then what is your logical theory about potent over jaz?
I really don't know what Jim's motive is here. What I do know is that at 5 votes on Krissy, the game died down. Then when it came to voting between potent and jaz, there was a massive shift to Jaz. To me it feels like mafia wants potent to survive. And for that reason, I'm keeping my vote where it's at.
Having said all that, I think it's unfair to end a round within an hour of a dispositive vote change. I think everyone should at least be given a chance to see this is happening. Then again, I'm not the ref.
When I stacked Krissy up to 5 (with the next most votes for someone at 3), I was shocked that for almost 2 full days on this earth, not a single person in this game so much as broached the subject. There were plenty of posts during that time span. But not a single person either challenged me on the stack, mentioned it in any concerned way, or voted to counter it. I was shocked.
Then with the runoff between Jazmo and potent (starting 4-4 with 3 to vote), 2 votes were put on Jazmo to make it 6-4. After Bogart evened it out to 5-5 (a veteran townie move IMO), the last person left to vote went against Jazmo to make it 6-5. Jazmo was ready to be voted off by a significant portion of people (I'm assuming Bogart could care less either way and just wanted to make the last vote matter).
And that's just weird to me. I'm getting the vibe like things have been tilted all through the runoffs for potent to stay alive. It's all I've got.

possibly my last words in the game...
This post by Dr. Joe, plus his frustrated posts at Surf last night, lead me to think he is a townie. i don't know this for sure, since - say it with me now - I'm a townie, but from one person who doesn't have an ounce of inside information on what's going on, Jimmyroo seems like another person in that same boat.
My working theory right now is that Jimmy and Rummy are both town (with me), and the town should definitely investigate Jaz and Jim further in Day 2, barring something unforeseen and helpful like the inspector surviving and coming out.
When people say "the inspector surviving and coming out," you don't mean that s/he would actually come out and divulge their status, right? Because then wouldn't they be killed pretty quickly by the mafia?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Yes, the inspector should go to whatever lengths possible to maintain the secrecy of their title.

And the night ends as soon as the Inspector has submitted his/her guess and the Mafia has made their kill?
7) The Referee shall neither answer an Inspector's inquiry nor execute a Mafia's chosen victim until after having received both the Inspector's inquiry and the Mafia's chosen victim. If the Inspector is the victim, the Inspector is not owed an answer from the Referee. The Referee shall only accept victim names from living Mafia players.
8) Nights will last 18 hours. Nights do not follow the weekend rule and will end once the 18 hours are completed unless extended by the referee. a) If the Inspector has not made a guess within 18 hours during a Night round, the Inspector will forfeit that guess. b) If the Mafia have not reported a whack victim within 18 hours during a Night round, the Mafia will forfeit that whack and the Townspeople will receive another round of voting during that Night round to offset the missed whack.
And the night ends as soon as the Inspector has submitted his/her guess and the Mafia has made their kill?
More or less, except that it's not "as soon as". This has been a point of contention in the past and the commissioner has clarified that the ref may wait a bit after receiving the guess and the whack to obscure the timing of the post. That's because let's say the inspector and mafia submit their guess five minutes after the round ends - if the next round started immediately, players could just try to see who had been online in the past five minutes to try to sniff out the inspector/mafia. So the ref can post it whenever s/he wants to during that 18-hour window after the round ends.
