Looks like today could very well be one of the first organized severe weather outbreaks of the season. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center has issued an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms over portions of Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Greatest risk is for damaging winds and large hail. Slight risk of tornadoes in this region.

I really hate tornado season. I'd rather live in New England and deal with getting pounded by snow.

Since you're from the Midwest, I think you would appreciate this. He starts off with a rant about fall weather, but a lot of what he says is also applicable to spring weather.
Eh, this happens every spring. Just keep on eye on the weather reports and exercise caution this afternoon and evening. Most of the folks who find themselves in compromising situations during severe weather outbreaks are either not paying attention or actively trying out for the Darwin awards.

Thanks. I'll be in the house, packing for Coachella. I have a basement, and I know how to use it.

Very strange weather this afternoon. The temperature has been holding steady around 40°F, but we've have some pretty impressive thunder and lightning within the last hour.
I'm tired of the pollen everywhere. It rained over night, hoping it would clear the pollen but it just stained the roads pollen green and my car is filthy. UGH.

Fuck cold air damming. While temperatures in western NY soared into the lower 60s today, temperatures stubbornly held in the lower 40s across central NY. Thankfully, this pattern will finally break down tomorrow.
we had some mutha fuckin "wintery mix" shit today. thankfully I didn't stay and just appeared as snow for a second. it'll be back up to the 60s in the next day or so.... and hopefully I get to say baaiiii to my last MN winter.

A tornado wrecked a nursing home a few blocks from where I stay. And some I spoke with were complaining about the loss of electricity and the city's infrastructure before finding out what all had happened. I just took advantage of the time off the grid and got some reading done. I hope all the residents are OK and have a place to stay soon.
