My generator sucks about a 20lb bottle of propane a day running the essentials. I caught one of those u shaped window units last week on sale but unfortunately it doesn’t look like it’ll be delivered before any potential outages.
Ran the generator some today to make myself feel better. And of course mowed the grass. Can’t storm prep without first mowing the grass.

I got the tri-connect and we hooked it to our gas, then ran everything but the AC on it. The window unit was too small for my living room. But I got some industrial fans. The search for gas was rough here. I hear propane was just as bad. I'd rather pay extra on my gas bill, then ever experience that again.

tri gas is cool as hell. I there’s a conversion kit to make mine run off natural gas I’d like to get but I’d also have to figure out an okay way to get a gas hook up outside.
Propane’s nice because I can store it forever. I keep telling myself I’m going to get one of those 100lb bottles as a just in case but they’re just so expensive.
Our South East Houston office with the majority of employees that live…… South East of Houston just sent out an email that “We’re monitoring the weather and plan to be open with normal operations” email.
What weather are they monitoring 😂? Cause I want to watch it to so I can get some rest tonight. Because literally the NOAA has our office in the “wide spread flash floods expected” part of the map.
Power out since 2 am. No flooding and no damage to report so far.
Stay safe. I hope you remain high/dry and without damage. I can tell it's a wet one, it's been raining here all day.
Thanks friend!
In true fashion, shortly after getting everything up and running on the generator, power came back on.
Parts of the neighborhood were still without last night so we were lucky to get it back so early. No flooding around us, and we can thank the now ~half full detention ponds in our area. They were just fields prior to this week. Our rain gauge caught about 12 inches in about 24 hours with the quickest rain fall at about 1.25 inches per hour for a brief stint.
I'm outside at 2pm, and it's not at least warm. This is a sad reminder of things to come.
Yesterday I was standing outside in the feels like 97 degree weather to warm up. Today it's 75, feels 75 and there is no way to warm up besides adding layers. Super sad times ahead.

But shit at least looks nice for the next few days. More early November-type weather, but it's fine.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Yes. But we all have thin southern blood and don't like it cold. I've already moved my chair by the window like 4 times today to warm up in this frigid ass building.
But it is. If you can still swim and get burned in less than 3 hours with sunscreen on, it’s still summer.
You live in the south, none of that is relevant. We can swim in December sometimes and get a sunburn, doesn't mean December is summer. Also, how the fuck don't you have a tan base so you don't burn like that? Dave Maynar has a point. Double also, you only applied sunscreen once in 3 hours? WTF is wrong with you?
