We are currently experiencing the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history... in December...
Yeah I saw there was some 115mph gusts which is extreme. Some parts of Boulder looked to be in the crosshairs. It was 84 today here. I’m not complaining about that specifically, but it’s not usually 80’s in late December. It’s otherwise out of whack. We got hit by a bad hurricane. Had the second wettest year ever and shit. It’s hard to know what real extremes are because we only have a few hundred years of recorded weather in the US outside of forensic and geological lookbacks. Maybe it’s anecdotal, but even with the Alaska all time high December record this week/crazy cold snow south of there in the Sierra Nevadas - and then the Texas cold last year, super-extreme events seem to be becoming more normal.

I don't think Denver has recorded literally any official snow so far this winter.
it looks like a pretty big snowstorm will hit the middle MS Valley, Tennessee and North Carolina and then up the east coast. Y’all be safe and stock up on those provisions.

I just hope things clear up enough on Monday, so I can get back home from Virginia.
That's highly considerate considering it's her wedding. Some of the 12Z models are running now. It looks like the Total Snowfall is up a little from the last run. This is total snowfall accumulation through 7am Tuesday.
US Model
Canadian Model likes more snow in Eastern TN than the US Model does but its bullseye is more WV. Sometimes it handles cold better, sometimes the US does.

Luckily it wasn't bad and you were able to come back. Unfortunately it's now Monday and still cold everywhere.

The Euro has been one of the most aggressive so far with snow totals. There was a run yesterday where it had Chatham at 48 inches, Norwood and Dedham around 45.
