Basically, What are some experiences dealing with camping in shitty weather at Bonnaroo and how did you fix it? How are you preparing this year for it? EZ-Up tips would be much appreciated.

BONNAROO BABY!!
it will rain at some point. bring boots. and make sure you have a tarp under your tent. also suggest a canopy over your tent too. helps keep it cool and extra layer for rain. you'll be fine tho. just embrace the wet.

The best way to keep water out of your tent when it rains at Bonnaroo is to masturbate ferociously inside the tent until all the water is gone.
Always assume it will rain at least once and be prepared.
The tent/EZ Up suggestions are spot on. (Well, except the masturbating one. I haven't seen the science behind that but feel free to test the theory if that's your thing.)
Don't bother with a heavy rain coat because it will still be wicked humid. Just a pullover to keep you from getting soaked to the bone. I always grab a few of the $1 ponchos from Target before I go and just keep one in my bag. They're tiny, light and somewhat effective. (Still pretty damn humid, though.)
Good footwear is key, too. There are areas where mud will appear that will suck your shoe right off. Flip flops will be useless in this situation.
Finally, zip lock bags. Keep a couple in your bag for electronics and paper goods. I also use plastic totes for my stuff in my tent to keep things organized and dry.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I think the only major concerns from rain are that your tent is waterproof (if you aren't sure test it), good shoes (nothing worse than standing on swamp feet for 20 hours straight), and a ziplock bag or two to keep your phone wallet and schedule dry. Unless it's cold strip down to a shirt or nothing. You dry much quicker that way.
Always assume it will rain at least once and be prepared.

Thanks! Yea it rained last year but it wasn't a problem at all. I'm bringing a EZ Up this year and wasn't sure if they collect water on the top of them.

100% yes. They will collect water and collapse and not only dump huge amounts of water, flooding your camp, but also completely destroy your EZUP. If it rains heavily, you MUST consistently push up on the EZUP fabric and drain it off.

Drink booze, get muddy, drink more booze, deal with it, and be determined to have fun. That, or cry and head for home. There are no other options.
Boots, ziplock bags, tent under canopy, booze, rain dance on Tuesday (I never get what I want), light and breathable rain jacket and pants. That's my plan. Hopefully the boots stay in the trunk, as usual.

The good, sturdy, name brand ones handle rain fairly well, due to tight-fitting tops and strong structural bits. I had a generic one get bent at Roo in 2013 after the fabric top got soaked, stretched just a bit, and collected lots of water on top. The E-Z Up brand canopy next to it survived just fine, and is still kicking after several more rainy days. The cheap, flimsy ones are fine on clear, calm days, but they do not like wind and rain. As such they are typically labeled as being intended for shade, not shelter from rain. Roo looks like a canopy graveyard once most people are gone on Monday morning.

With all that metal lying out in the field Monday morning, I bet they open it up for those guys you see driving around in pickups with old washers, tons of rusty rebar, and old radiators in the pickup bed.

make sure the ground tarp or whatever UNDER your tent doesn't extend beyond the tent. It should be a little smaller than the floor of the tent. if not, the rain runs off the tent and gets collected on the ground tarp and will pool under the tent.

I actually woke up in 2013 to a broken $200 commercial grade EZ UP I looked where it broke and it looked kinda rusted, so I guess it's partial blame of the collected rain and the rust. I miss that EZ Up
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

fun fact
Thanks for saying this! I find most people don't understand this.

There is something to be said for rainaroo. Your skin is less likely to roast and you get less sweaty. It's also a forced shower for some of the wooks - and they will need it.
It also can lead to some memorable musical performances.
It is, however, a bit of a logistical nightmare all the way up to putting away a wet and muddy campsite.

BONNAROO BABY!!
"What if it rains?" Snarky answer, "You get wet." Slightly less snarky answer, "You get wet, but that doesn't have to be a big deal."
First thing, check the weather before you go. Keep in mind that this in TN in summer, so even if they say 0% chance, that really means ~25% chance. If they say near 100% chance... well, just build an ark. At least you'll have an idea of what to expect.
Campsite: Look around you. If there are obvious low points, do not pitch your tent there. Seems like common sense, but as smart as I think I am, I brainfarted 2 years ago and forgot this, slept in a bathtub. Secure your EZ-UP; with rain comes winds. While you're at it, make sure your tent is staked down. Don't leave stuff that soaks up water (TP, schedules, etc) out when you go into Centeroo.
Clothing and stuff It may be a little unpleasant to be wet, but it won't kill you (if you're smart). If it rains a lot, the biggest thing is the mud and your footwear. Good: Tevas, 5 Finger shoes, Crocs (so I'm told), hiking boots, mudder boots. Bad: Flip-flops (very bad, you will lose them), sneakers, anything else that soaks up water. If it looks like it will rain a bunch, try to avoid cotton clothes. They soak up water, are slow to dry, you're freezing wearing them when they are wet. Nylon shorts, like bathing suits, are perfect. Same goes for up top. Bikini tops, synthetic workout shirts, whatever are great. Cotton T-shirts will suck the warmth right out of you.
Most Important Thing Have a positive outlook! It can be done. Here is me (much, much younger), soaked to the bone, footrot like crazy, sore as hell, having an un-freaking-believable good time.
