"What if it rains?" Snarky answer, "You get wet." Slightly less snarky answer, "You get wet, but that doesn't have to be a big deal."
First thing, check the weather before you go. Keep in mind that this in TN in summer, so even if they say 0% chance, that really means ~25% chance. If they say near 100% chance... well, just build an ark. At least you'll have an idea of what to expect.
Campsite: Look around you. If there are obvious low points, do not pitch your tent there. Seems like common sense, but as smart as I think I am, I brainfarted 2 years ago and forgot this, slept in a bathtub. Secure your EZ-UP; with rain comes winds. While you're at it, make sure your tent is staked down. Don't leave stuff that soaks up water (TP, schedules, etc) out when you go into Centeroo.
Clothing and stuff It may be a little unpleasant to be wet, but it won't kill you (if you're smart). If it rains a lot, the biggest thing is the mud and your footwear. Good: Tevas, 5 Finger shoes, Crocs (so I'm told), hiking boots, mudder boots. Bad: Flip-flops (very bad, you will lose them), sneakers, anything else that soaks up water. If it looks like it will rain a bunch, try to avoid cotton clothes. They soak up water, are slow to dry, you're freezing wearing them when they are wet. Nylon shorts, like bathing suits, are perfect. Same goes for up top. Bikini tops, synthetic workout shirts, whatever are great. Cotton T-shirts will suck the warmth right out of you.
Most Important Thing Have a positive outlook! It can be done. Here is me (much, much younger), soaked to the bone, footrot like crazy, sore as hell, having an un-freaking-believable good time.
Thanks guy! Some really helpful tips, especially the cotton thing. Oh and the pic is much appreciated haha! I have a hard time believing there were no mud fights that year.

make sure the ground tarp or whatever UNDER your tent doesn't extend beyond the tent. It should be a little smaller than the floor of the tent. if not, the rain runs off the tent and gets collected on the ground tarp and will pool under the tent.
Yep. Learned this the hard way my first year after the Friday '08 downpour. Thankfully, I'd followed the cardinal hitchhiker's rule and brought a towel.
What to do if it rains? Take off your cotton t-shirt, wrap your electronics in a plastic bag, keep an eye out for anyone selling ponchos, and embrace the respite from the heat. Sacrificing creature comforts is all part of the package deal of festivals, but you're in it together with 80,000 other people. Woodstock was one big rainy mess and I've never heard anyone complain about that.
I actually woke up in 2013 to a broken $200 commercial grade EZ UP I looked where it broke and it looked kinda rusted, so I guess it's partial blame of the collected rain and the rust. I miss that EZ Up
I actually woke up in 2013 to broken glasses, pants on backwards, feathers in my mouth, and a crudely drawn picture of Walter Mondale on my belly. But I don't want to get into that.

Yeah, '94 was wet as hell. As for mud fights, I have no idea who pelted Ricky Rachman with mud balls at the MTV stand, it wasn't me, there's no way you can prove anything.

If someone (anyone) did that to that vile turd of a tool, thank you!

What did he do to you?
Riki Rachtman? He douched up some perfectly good MTV metal shows, mostly. I was young, impressionable, and had few other sources for music besides MTV. You aren't Riki Rachtman, are you? That would be embarrassing - both me hating on him when he's present, and you having a long history of being a douche. But I'm guessing you're not him.

LOL, I am in fact not Riki Rachtman. He never bothered me, though. He always seemed like a fan first and foremost and he was a definite improvement of Adam Curry. Then again, I too was young and impressionable so it's possible that I have been giving him a pass all this time when really I should be holding a grudge. I'm pretty sure that he is responsible for me buying a Dangerous Toys album after all...

I loved Riki Rachtman back in the day. I was still in grade school when Headbanger's Ball was around but metal was the first music I was passionate about and Ball was the only show on MTV worth a shit. I know nothing about him as a person but he seemed like a true fan of the music and gave me my metal fix every Saturday Night.
Hell any show where Pantera did the opening music and Rob Zombie designed the set is automatically awesome.
We want it to rain. All weekend if possible. It helps dissipate the chemtrails and mind control drugs they use, and makes it difficult for the spy drones to fly around and get accurate images. Plus if everyone is in rain coats they can't tell us apart as easily. Be vigilant, comrade.
I'm pretty sure that is Glastonbury several years ago. They fixed that problem.
That is the scariest picture I have seen all day. There isn't enough ziploc bags, ponchos or waterproof anything to protect your shit in weather like that.

You joke but i had a long talk with an Inforooer a couple of years back who was certain that it was raining because of chemtrails.
No rain at Bonnaroo=DUSTAROO! #neverforget2007 Even just an afternoon pop up shower every day will be enough to keep the dust down. I'd rather not cough up black stuff this time.

there was some thread last year or a couple years before about someone freaking out about weird gas clouds on the farm or something. I looked but couldn't find it.

2007 was by far the worst bonnaroo weather i've experienced. So hot. So dusty.

That was my first year. And while the weather left much to be desired, it did allow me to really appreciate the weather all the following years!
