There was somewhat of a pit going during the Bouncing Souls last year, but that was a punk pit. I like those.
I will not be joining the Slayer pit.
Never been in a punk pit, what's the difference between a punk and metal pit?
like and echo here but punk pits are definitely more fun. A bit more tame, a bit more dancing and less balled fists and punching.
the worst pit I've ever been in was at a taste of chaos festival (I can't remember who it was that was playing) at the asbury park convention center -- but we were chilling up in the seats watching the first band and they initiated the wall of death..my friend and i turned to each and were like 'no quacking way...thank god we are not down there' --- fast forward two acts -- I'm standing dead center of the crowd at the edge of a pit and the artist parts the crowd for another wall of death and we got pummeled. (If you are unfamiliar with the wall of death-- its basically where the whole crowd parts down the middle - and then on the artists say so just run at each other with fists flying. it turns into a huge brawl and you don't nearly have enough time to escape the crowd before it happens. it is the craziest thing I've ever had the unfortunate experience of being a part of.
On the topic of rain-- rain boots are not only helpful when raining. I found them extremely useful when I had to navigate the gross mud river dam that collected in front of all of the porta jons in my pod by the end of four days!

I have been to so many festivals where rainboots have saved me. Not because of rain, but because of the mud. Both pairs are making the trip with me next week.

I was just thinking this exact thing, as I look outside, at the non-stop rain in Nashville..... It's been raining for days, and is supposed to rain on and off all week here. It needs to let up by the weekend, so it's not crazy muddy The temps look like they will be good, but I have a bad feeling about the rain
FWIW, forecasts outside of 5 days are pretty much pure conjecture >_>
Sometimes, even the day of isn't accurate.
Well sure. The forecasts you get on weather websites or TV are based on the average of a number of projections. Some systems naturally will lie on one end of that spectrum or the other.
