The lines today were truly absurd, especially considering that it is estimated to be just ~30,000 people. On FB it says they are going to work on improving it for tomorrow but...idk.

How was Drake? From the snaps, he sounded pretty good. At least what I could tell from your shitty phone mics and then coming out of my shitty phone speakers.

One of the people I'm staying with said it was the best shows she's ever seen. I wouldn't go that far but lets face it, fire and explosions are cool.
I haven't seen anything that has blew me away but a lot of solid sets. Lone Bellow was my big surprise for yesterday. Miguel was really good. Probably the best thing I've seen, thus far.

The only way they can fix the lines is by a) adding more vendors or b) having less people. I got to thinking that it's the latter. Sunday may have not sold as well as the Saturday day passes. I'm probably wrong on that one though.

It really sucks to hear about the beer lines. These guys aren't new to this so I'm a bit surprised. I don't really see a viable way to fix it overnight either. Oh well I guess I'm attempting some smuggling today!

So you're looking at a situation like the food vendors at Shaky Knees but with everything? That sucks.

Took me ~40 minutes to get a porta to pee yesterday. Kindaaaaa unacceptable
I've never had too much of a line with the porto's in the middle of the fest. Most of the time that sat unused. That's also my makeshift smoking section and shade. It's pretty amazing.
The War On Drugs and Miguel were my favorites (Even though I had to watch Miguel from the food line). I'd only seen TWOD do daytime fest sets before, so seeing them in the dark, and in the rain, was really cool. Wish I'd had a better spot for Miguel.
I think if you were a Drake fan, last night was really good. As a person who's not a Drake fan, I was impressed, but it eventually wore on me, My friends wanted to leave early so we missed the last half hour of his set. Did anything crazy happen after "Started From the Bottom"?

Surprised you guys were all so into Miguel, we were all pretty disappointed with him. Drake was good though, light years better than Coachella. War on Drugs was great in the rain.
Two things about the beer lines. First, it's idiotic that all beverages, including bottled water, are being sold from the beer lines. Second, I'm not sure how much adding extra lines might help, the people working are just slow as hell. The lines took forever first thing in the day when no one was there yet.

The Strokes were fantastic. New York City Cops, Reptilia, and Heart In a Cage all made my night. I even found Julian's terrible banter entertaining. alt-J and Hiss Golden Messenger were other favorites of the day for me. Missed Avers unfortunately, but today was all around better. Got food early and the lines were fine, didn't look like they ever got too bad.

They show up 20 minutes late, end 10 minutes early, don't play Undercover of Darkness or You Only Live Once, almost no light show, and yet, it was still perfect.

My thoughts exactly as I walked away at the end of the show

I didn't really care for You're So Right and Killing Lies. I would have probably thrown Razorblade in the setlist too. I loved his banter tho.

Chvrches was everything I'd hoped for and more. And I actually dug the Strokes live way more than I thought I would (have heard before that they're sometimes lackluster live).

I've seen The Strokes numerous times and this was easily the best of the batch.

Better than Shaky Knees?
I didn't do Shaky Knees. We ended up having some stuff come up and I had to bail. I'm not typically a fan of their live show but I was pleasantly surprised.
Did I mention that there were moments during the weekend, on the Miller Light stage side, that I felt like I was at Bonnaroo? It was kind of a surreal experience.

I didn't think you were there. Basically, everybody at Shaky Knees who had seen The Strokes previously said the same thing re: it being the best show of theirs that they had seen. As monster pointed out, I can't say that they are an objectively lousy live band anymore. I just personally don't like what they do live.

Top shows 1) War on Drugs 2) Chromeo 3) Band of Horses 4) Alt-J 5) The Strokes 6) Twin Shadow
Good first year festival overall. The location is great, the lineup was solid, the price isn't bad, the food is excellent (once the line finally finishes). Overall, if they can just make some improvements to the lines, and it seems they were doing that with additional registers and more premade food, this festival seems like a keeper as a DC native. I expect it to be back with nearly double the attendance next year.
