I would've thought so. Shaky Boots was a nice little side thing but I think they realized that there's so much more money in electronic stuff.
I dunno man, country festivals are huge these days, and those fuckers aren't just teenagers with no money to spend, and they drink more.
Yeah but I doubt they'll run both and there is just more money in electronic. It did just say one year hiatus though. This will be something interesting to watch in the future. Shaky Beats line up tomorrow though. Only names that come to mind are FlyLo, Jamie xx and Big Grams
Really you guys? You missed the best three on the lineup: Floating Points, !!! and Classixx.
Overall it looks pretty meh. I'm hoping Moogfest has an awesome lineup to make this decision easier. If not then hey, I won't complain about a hometown festival.

Last year it was January like mid month. Im thinking they may do a little earlier since most festivals seem to be doing that. Don't want people committing to other festivals if they have a good hand.

The early birds are on sale earlier than last year I think.m, so an early announcement looks possible

Do we actually think Beck, My Morning Jacket, LCD Soundsystem to be a reasonable set of headliners? Four of us up in PA are pulling the trigger on Thursday regardless it seems, but that would be pretty dreamy if it were to happen. Would also be a step up from Last Year in terms of overall popularity.
Yeah I mean Boston Calling last May had Beck, MMJ, and the Pixies. Shaky Knees is one step above BC in terms of quality, so trade out Pixies for LCD and there ya go!
But really, expecting LCD pretty much anywhere right now is a bit of a gamble.
The first show LCD announce will almost definitely be Coachella. They would not have been on Beats because their audience lies much more in the "indie" world than in the "dance" or "electronic" world. They could easily play Shaky Knees, I just don't see it happening.

Yeah Shaky Beats does still have on headliner to announce but I don't think it's LCD.
I would guess Beck and MMJ are the closest we can predict right now and then maybe an indie band who headlining would be huge for them. Sweetwater has said that he likes to do this. The National were apparently very appreciative and Tame Impala is a good example too. I'd like to see OMAM or Death Cab somewhere in there as well.

I was going to say Alabama Shakes then remembered they headlined in 2014. They should've been more grateful than the National! They only had one album!

Yeah but Alabama Shakes at least had "Hold On" and good name recognition. The National just doesn't headline fests. Or didn't at the time, I think they have since.
And don't forget, Alabama Shakes were just a Beck replacement

The National headlined Boston Calling in 2013, but that had to do with Aaron Dessner helping curate it. Didn't realize that about the Shakes and Beck though, I just knew they were announced later.
