Why does there have to be a worst set? I didn't see any bad sets at all. I don't like the 1975 but some of the snaps I heard they didn't even sound bad.

People love lists, sir.
I was thinking about that after my previous post though. There were some sets that didn't do it for me, but I wouldn't necessarily call them bad sets. Us leaving Diet Cig had more to do with our mood than anything else.
I found out some awful news today. The kid who took this photo died suddenly only a day after it was taken, just sometime shortly after his graduation. Kevin kept beating down the door to my DMs on Twitter. I usually answer everyone unles they are being weirdos. Kevin wasn't, tho he was just reallllly persistent about getting a photo pass inot Shaky Knees Festival. They had their own staff and said they could do anything so I decided even tho I really didn't feel like it Id help the kid out. I walked around aimlessly in a sea of awful festival people for 20 minutes or so until I seen this skinny kid with a giant book bag on waving at me from across the street. I knew this HAD to be the guy. I walked his bag in the band part and then walked around to the front gate to meet him. He was truly stoked, so stoked and energetic I had to tell him to relax a little bit ha. We walked back to our tent and talked a little and he told me how he was finally graduating tomorrow(which is now yesterday). He was so happy to take photos of his favorite bands. He asked me to gather the rest of band so he could pay me back with one of his portraits. Nick was all I could find so we took a quick couple shots and he was off. Didn't see him again that night but this photo popped up on our Instagram later that night.... Not sure why I'm bringing this up here on such a platform other than to try and remind everyone to be nicer to each other even when it's not in your best interests. We're all guilty of it, especially me, but you never really know man. Hug your family and friends tonight. My thoughts go out to your family and friends Kevin, rest in peace.
From a friend on Facebook: This picture was taken a we prepared for our graduation ceremony. A hour later Kevin's spleen ruptured as we were marching into the arena. He's currently in ICU, and in addition to the spleen his liv÷r is failing. Please send up fervent prayers for Kevin and his family.
Thanks for praying for Kevin's healing. Kevin made his transition to Heaven this afternoon, please continue to pray for the Kevin Scheidt family.
Anyone have a spare wristband that I could have now that the festival is over? I gave mine away Saturday night because I couldn't go yesterday but I would still like to have a general admission 3-day for my collection. Thanks
Just bumping this once in case anyone didn't see it
Anyone go VIP. Was wondering how close you could get to the stage and was it worth it
I went VIP. I don't know how far the VIP area went in front of the stage, but I was able to stand in front under the screen with plenty of room. There was a 20-25 minute wait for drinks during the crowded times. You can get 4 drinks, but you can only take out 1 alcoholic drink at a time, I had friends in GA, so it was a pain and I bought some beer outside VIP so I wouldn't miss any music. Fox Bros BBQ brings food at lunch and dinner and it's pretty good, but you miss out on the food trucks if you only eat in VIP. If I was going alone or had friends in VIP, I would probably do it again. The air conditioned bathrooms were nice, but it wasn't that hot and I never had to wait in line at the GA bathrooms and yes, VIP ran out of toilet paper too and the urinals got clogged up Sunday at the International Plaza bathroom.
Finally back to a normal schedule again after the weekend. What a great time! Saw around 25 artists over the weekend and have to agree with the people who say there weren't any "bad" sets, just some that didn't necessarily click with me. Favorite shows (in no particular order): ML Vasquez, Slowdive, Foals, MMJ, Black Angels, Frightened Rabbit, Strand of Oaks, Young the Giant.
Always looking to the future so my completely unrealistic prediction for the 2017 headliners: REM, Arcade Fire, Gorillaz (okay, a slightly more realistic version includes Cage the Elephant or Foster the People in that last spot).

I like how you think REM is more realistic than Gorillaz.

Beck - Lana Del Rey - Morrissey
Maybe Black Keys
You're really going to argue over who is more unrealistic in that scenario? And I guessed REM for this year so I'm just going to keep going with them until they listen to me and get back together.

An REM reunion, implying it even happens, would be way too big for Shaky. I think you're getting your hopes up too much.
Oh my gosh Morrissey is my biggest want for next year. He'd totally fit the vibe. Not a huge fan of him as a person, but I'd die to hear There is a Light That Never Goes Out. I'd fucking cry
Just had someone remind me that I saw Huey Lewis this year. He was singing a HL song. Sometimes I see so many shows, especially at festivals that I almost forget who I've seen. After that show happened I probably haven't thought about it at all.

Only went friday this year. Had Hangout the next weekend and needed to make sure my poor college self could afford the weekend in Alabama. Still had an amazing time and will be back to Centennial next year
Beach Slang - lots of fun. Set was messy but the singer was entertaining Saintseneca - fine set. Just there to wait for Brian Fallon Brian Fallon - favorite set of the day. I've been in love with the Gaslight Anthem since middle school but never saw them live. Brians has become a young Springsteen and I love every second of it Wolf Alice - really love them but didn't expect to have so much fun. Awesome live July Talk - biggest surprise of the day. I listened to some of their stuff ahead of the festival but didn't think I'd have so much fun. The singers have such good chemistry. So weird but so awesome Cold War Kids - caught the first half. Wasn't having the best time so decided to cross the bridge of death again to get to the Struts early The Struts - love them so much. perfect band for a festival Bloc Party - Been listening to them since middle school too. Never a huge fan but really glad I saw them. Kele is an awesome frontman. Slowdive - great end of the day for me. Wasn't interested in 1975 or JA so wanted to go out on a set I knew I'd enjoy
