the strokes' "reunion" (first show in 2 years, only thing that pulled me to Shaky Knees initially) won't pull NEARLY as much cash as an LCD actual reunion. duh

Assuming Shaky was even capable of landing LCD, wouldn't they be playing Beats instead of Knees?
I don't think Shaky will get LCD, but I think it's worth mentioning Shaky Beats still has one headliner to reveal and it would make sense that they would postpone the announcement because of Coachella.
I was thinking that they might book the Mountain Goats. I know they played last year, but the touring schedule works, they're not playing Atlanta on the tour, and they play festivals often. Or Foals. A little pricy, but schedule works out and they're playing Hangout the weekend after.

At this point I'm actually more excited about this lineup than Roo. It's pure speculation and nothing confirmed which is great. Probably only a little over a week until the lineup as well

I still remember the shock of seeing that poster last year. We've been going to this fest from the start but every year they have surprised and impressed me. It's refreshing to not know anything about the lineup before it comes.
Looks like we'll know before January 13th, just a guess...
I was looking at that earlier. I would think this means Monday or Tuesday with me feeling Monday is a little more likely to give an extra day for word to get around before the onsale and not wanting to compete with Bonnaroo's rumored reveal on Tuesday. It is rumored for the 12th, right?

Not that I'm aware of aside from it lining up with the time that Bonnaroo announced their lineup last year, the general early nature of announcements this year and that 6 out of the last 7 initial lineups coming out on a Tuesday (2014 being the exception).
I'd be very surprised (and disappointed) to see Alabama Shakes as a repeat headliner. Though, as mattlikesrock says, I have no idea who to replace them with.
Bored at work this morning so I put together a list of bands who have released an album since Shaky Knees 2015/are expected to release new music soon and would be a fit: The Shins, Bat for Lashes, Jake Bugg, Titus Andronicus, Deerhunter, The Dear Hunter, Grizzly Bear, The Helio Sequence, Beach Slang, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Ra Ra Riot, Silversun Pickups, Thee Oh Sees, Yo La Tengo, FFS, Savages, Wolfmother, Ween.
I'm hoping for/expect a few of those to be there. As a sidenote, I didn't check any tour dates that could eliminate any of these bands.
I have to agree that I doubt the shakes headline again so soon. I think mmj and death cab make a ton of sense and fit great. Mmj puts on one of the best shows around and will tear shaky up. I could see sspu playing a headline or wilco like set as well. I would love om&m to play possibly headline as they are amazing live. However I expect a little bit of a surprise headliner to round things out. I would love alt-j, arctic monkeys, yeah yeah yeahs or similar. Beck fits but there is all that drama with him. Maybe they score a reunion type of thing like lcd, but I'm not feeling that.
