I think they're fine. Generic but not bad. X Ambassadors esque
Hell no! Cold War Kids are a hell of a lot more diverse than X-ambassadors. Cold War kids have balls live, I don't know what X-ambassadors are bringing live but it sure ain't CWK.
diversity isn't exactly what comes to mind when I think of Cold War Kids

Perry's voice was weak, but there were sound mix issues at the Peachtree stage. The sound for Wolf Alice was a disaster. We were up front and all I could hear was bass, I felt like I was in the trunk of a low rider. We moved back and the sound was a little better. At least 4 girls passed out waiting for that show.
Really enjoyed The Struts. We ended up staying for Ghost just to avoid the bridge, they were great. And I can't say enough good things about The Kills.
We exited the fest by Phillips, walked down the street, and re-entered near the main stage for JA. Just so we didn't have to cross the bridge.

Day 1:
Good < Great < Awesome < AMAZING
Wolf Alice = Great July Talk (1st half) = Great Crystal Fighters (2nd half) = AMAZING Against Me = Good Savages = Great Ghost = AMAZING The Kills = Awesome Jane's Addiction = Good (horrible vocals + amazing band = good)
Had some downtime, so I walked the perimeter of the festival grounds. Seems like a pretty good layout overall. Definitely a 10+ minute walk between Peachtree and Boulevard/Piedmont stage, once you factor in crowds.
Are you required to go through this every time you go from one area to the other? That looks miserable
Phyre Fest, this is the bridge of doom. It is exactly as stable as it looks with a thousand people trying to go through it.
If you didn't see Savages you fucked up. Ran into rummy and 10goldbees in the mosh pit. I wore flip flops because I wasn't planning on getting in a mosh pit. Had my foot stepped on and lost a flop twice. Slowdive was amazing. So damn good. Jane's is always great, but Perry's voice definitely struggles. Also saw The Sword, some of Baroness and Wolf Alice,Cold War Kids, heard Bloc Party while we were eating, Foxing and Beach Slang. Missed Ghost because I didn't want to go back over the bridge of death. I saw a lot of Inforoo erst but mostly really briefly. At least I got some hugs. Hopefully see more of you today. I don't really get on my phone at the fest.

Random thoughts:
-Savages were probably the highlight of the day -Beach Slang snuck towards the top of the list, if only partially because the lead singer is hilarious -Kaleo had a couple cool covers, including Nancy Sinatra's Bang Bang -Brian Fallon is one of those guys you just want to drink a beer with -The Kills stayed trued to their name -Jane's Addiction as noted struggled with vocals, but there were strippers on strings flying through the air, so I guess it cancels out a little. Also, he should not twirl around like a ballerina quite as much.

Today I'm going to be in a button up, short sleeve white collar shirt with birds on the pockets, American flag shorts (a different pair than yesterday), and normal socks. You can just find me via my glasses, really.

Takeaways: Front Bottoms are as good as ever Foxing was well rehearsed and neat The coke tent is an easy place to meet people Crystal Fighters are fantastic The bridges stability isn't a concern, just the line Bloc Party is so great. They kept the new stuff to a minimum and Kele is a fantastic frontman. Plus, that bass is way too loud at Peachtree. The 1975 has the worst fans but are enjoyable at a distantce. Also I can apparently pass for 21.
I have 2 free EITS tickets to anyone that wants them and can figure out how to get them. I had them sold yesterday andI couldn't transfer them. It was just not working, I spent like all morning and finally just refunded the person that bought them. Ticketmaster was supposed to send me a verification email that never came.

Yesterday was a lot of fun!
Baroness - Possibly the best of the day, tons of stuff off Purple, and lots of energy. Set the bar real high. The Sword (1st half) - Seen them twice before, and this seemed like stuff I had already seen so we braved the metal bridge of doom to... Cold War Kids - Hadn't seen them in 8 years, so this was pretty good. Not as awesome as some of the other stuff, but solid. Savages - WOW! Had never listened to them prior to SK and was blown away by their intensity. Great way to start the evening! Ghost - Missed them 4 years ago opening for Opeth & Mastodon, so was really psyched for this one. Way heavier than I thought, loved the Eyes Wide Shut music. My wife said they sounded like a Gothic Rush. Slowdive - Beautiful set, not crowded at all on the left side! They played most of Souvlaki to my delight & the whole set had me smiling. Jane's Addiction (1st half) - Dave Navarro kicked all kinds of ass, but we were getting tired and Perry Farrell's voice was not doing anything for me so we trekked to MARTA.
Today will be a lot of wandering til Huey Lewis, Decemberists, & MMJ. I'm the bearded guy with a marathon hat & rainbow blanket.

Can you imagine that 1975 crowd with selfie sticks? Now you see why they're banned, young Tranter. Imagine Walk the Moon will be same crowd tonight.

Hey guys, I am going to Shaky Knees with a guy who has a extra VIP ticket for Saturday. Originally $250ish, I think he's trying to recoup half of that if possible. We could meet you outside the festival around 1PM. You can e-mail him at flash_281@hotmail.com if interested

Savages was definitely the day one winner. That set was amazing. Props to Rummy 500 for having the good sense to move way up front when Jehnny Beth called for everyone to move forward. I took this picture. Oh and held her up when she stood up on the crowd for the entirety of a song. I ran into sang_xcx during all that chaos which was awesome.
Other thoughts: Slowdive was amazing. That dude from July Talk will not have a throat in five years. It's weird to see Craig Finn sing stuff that isn't The Hold Steady. Wolf Alice and Cold War Kids were both super fun. I have a contingency plan for whenever the bridge inevitably collapses.

Heading out soon, slow start today. I'm wearing a shirt with Luke, Leia, & Vader. Does shouting CORNCAT still work for finding Inforooers at other festivals?
