It's mostly for those hours between 10am and 1pm when it is to hot to sleep in your tent anymore and nothing is going on in centeroo yet so we hang out at camp. Wouldn't be blaring at night as I would still be in centeroo at the Kalliope stage.
I sleep till 12-1, even at Roo. Keep the speakers at home. Or don't be upset when you find your power cord sliced.

Power cord? Ever heard of batteries? Dude if you can sleep til noon or 1 more power to you. My music will stay low till about 11 or 12. At that point I say "IT IS BONNAROO GET THE HELL UP". You should be able to function perfect on 5hrs of sleep a day, even if that is split in a couple naps. I work 60 plus hours a week and can easily work 18 hour days with a few hours of sleep. Roo is no different, except hotter. I understand keeping quite til 10 or 11am but after that you absolutely can not expect quite.

Speakers played at a respectable volume after 10 is ok in my book. You can't really expect people to be quite til 12 or 1 simply because you apparently have super human sleeping powers. Besides, that's what ear plugs are for.
The main thing is people just need to be considerate of each other.

I have to agree with this. If for some reason I'm tired enough to be sleeping at 12 or 1 then some camp music isn't going to wake me. But maybe it should because....THERE'S SO MUCH TO DO!!
The years I was camped next to the Coocoo clock was the worst. That thing went off everytime I would start to fall asleep.
I am not a fan of people blaring music in the campgrounds. Sleep is fleeting and precious at Bonnaroo. The last thing I need is someone blasting Sublime right next to my head while I am trying to get some rest.
I had to deal with that last year, although it wasn't Sublime. The folks screaming about "Widespread M-F'ing Panic!!!" and k-holes while blasting random terrible music next to my tent at all hours were no joy to be around. I had enough issues, and I'm not sure they even spent much time in Centeroo. Music is good, just don't get carried away in the campgrounds. No one goes to Bonnaroo hoping to hear their neighbors speakers.
My first few years, there was an older guy that camped near us (being the first couple hundred onto the farm each year means anyone else who does as well will be near you too) who blasted old school Britney Spears for a few songs every morning. I ain't even mad! I laughed every single time.
To me, the guy blasting kanye on repeat made my first bonnaroo experience. I'll be a little sad if I don't have equally cool neighbors this year. In fact, all of my neighbors were pretty cool in general.
Wait... you were serious with your first post? I assumed that it was sarcastic because your neighbors sounded incredibly inconsiderate.

Yes. I also really like Kanye. It was the ultimate party experience. It also takes a lot to bother me or annoy me.

Yeah, uh, this is fucking preposterous. Stay in a hotel if you are going to be upset by music playing at 12 or 1 in the afternoon.

"Um, excuse me. I know we're attending a music festival that never sleeps and I am well aware that I can hear deadmau5 bleep bloops all the way from my campsite but I have to ask you to please turn down your speaker it is causing quite a ruckus."

There is a difference in intensity between Kaliope at 5AM and a dude blasting Dave Matthews Band ten feet from your head at 8AM.
I don't think anybody's saying don't play music. What we're saying (or at least what I'm saying) is just to exercise some courtesy. (Especially since the people blasting music typically have pretty uninspired listening choices.)
I wouldn't bring speakers like that. I will say the past two years I brought my UE boom bluetooth speaker which is water resistant and can hang from my EZ up and it's been dreamy. (btw, if you're in the market for a bluetooth speaker that you want to travel with I 10000% recommend it - i bring it hiking and to the beach all the time, i love it to death) I like listening to music at a moderate/ low level while we're drinking and hanging at the camp during the day before going out, but anything super loud is just obnoxious.

Klipsch KMC3 I am a big audio guy and test out and compare speakers, headphones, whatever quite a bit before buying. I would never get the UE over the Klipsch. Yes it sounds very good, and is the definitely one of the best ULTRA portable speakers. But I don't really need ultra portable and wanted semi portable. Its a bit smaller then your old school boombox and weighs about 15lbs or so with batteries. The Klipsch gets up to 105db and goes down to 50hz. It is fantastic. I use it at work all night and it fill the entire store. I don't plan to have it that loud at all as it will be a chill and listen thing at camp. But if I have cool neighbors who want to rave, I don't have a problem with cranking it up.

Oh yea? Well I AM staying in a hotel. Bitch.
If you're crying about someone playing music at a music festival then you're too old. Stay your old ass at home n watch the stream and sleep til noon in your bed. Thanks for the tip on music but I'll be playing Ke$ha and LMFAO all weekend. You're welcome. shots shots shots!

My first roo, our neighbors had speakers and I had a guitar. Last year, my camp-mate had speakers and they were on if he were home... When he would roll back to camp around 6 or 7 am and turn them on, I'd wake up and go back to sleep because I knew he was alive. Our neighbors had instruments and my friend's camp, where I spent most of my time, usually had some sort of music going, be it live guitars or car radio. Your campsite is what you make it. If your neighbors don't like it enough, they'll speak up, but I say bring them. Music, whether it's live or canned, creates conversation.
uvajed- Twice now you've hinted that you had a bummer of a Roo last year----I'm here for ya, man...
Haha, thanks. I had some fun and no regrets, but a medical issue got the better of me. It wasn't a complete and sudden surprise but was worse than I expected, and caused me to spend time at the main tent and resting rather than meeting people and going to brunch. Add in the worst, loudest neighbors I've had anywhere and it was a little tough. I'm gonna do my best to make up for it this year!
