In 2012 we were camped near this dude from Miami who brought his own soundsystem and blasted his own crappy EDM into the night. By Saturday my friend Tessa politely asked him to stop and was met with "I've been to PRISON." That's the only time speakers at Roo have ever been an issue for me.

I've never had a problem with neighbors being obnoxious with their music, until last year. I was pretty stoked to see that we somehow managed to be lined up to not only a large group from my home state, but my current hometown. In fact, a few live in my neighborhood (saw him at Chipotle a few months ago, twas awkward). I'm all for staying up for late night sets, and usually hit the wall around 3am, but these tools sat out all night playing really awful EDM and all those greatest hits from your favorite 90's alt bands that you might be a little to ashamed to admit to liking.
What was even worse was that they spoke almost entirely in misquoted catchphrases from any popular comedy from the past 15 years (Wedding Crashers, Old School, Anchorman, and, more than anything, Super Troopers). In fact, they started looking up their favorite Super Troopers clips on YouTube and blaring them over their speaker.
Bottom line: If it's late morning until midnight or so, go crazy as long as you play good tunes and are aware of your surroundings/neighbors. Otherwise, fuck off.

Everybody who keeps saying "play good music". Remember this is Bonnaroo. One of the most diverse music festivals out there. You really shouldn't expect all your neighbors to listen to the same kind of music as you. I completely hate rap, and dislike a very very large percentage of country. But I have never even slightly been bothered by my neighbor campers playing it. It is part of the music festival that I love and so do they. Who cares if we don't listen to the same kind, its music. If I play continuously something you don't like feel free to come over and ask me to put whomever on. I may or may not depending on if I have it or like it.

I searched Spotify for "Bonnaroo 2015". It's pretty much all I've been listening to.
On the original topic. I wouldn't even think about sleeping at Roo without earplugs.

I can't sleep in real life without earplugs, much less anywhere else. Sometimes bad habits aren't always bad.
