Could be worse, have you heard Bloc Party's new single?
Yeah that's garbage too. Not exactly enjoying the new Grimes either. So much disappointing new music.
I love the new Grimes! The intro is amazing but after that the first few tracks put me off a bit. But I love Belly of the Beast and every track after that.
I have tickets to see her later in the month. The friend I was going to see her with texted me earlier today to bail because she hates the album too. She said it sounds like the soundtrack to a legally blonde type movie. I still have the tickets and will probably still go. But I agree, shes trying way too hard to appeal to a wider audience on this one. I feel like what made her sound previously interesting is gone.
Nah. She's a rabid fan of pop music. If anything she's making music closer to her actual passions. Oblivion is fun but Art Angels is a much stronger record and is great.

I've been itching to listen to the new Grimes album and now I'm very nervous. Was going to wait until tomorrow but now I think I'll have to check it out before bed!

It's great. People who are making complaints like "she's trying too hard to appeal to a wider audience" are missing the point entirely. Grimes has always worked within the broader frame of "pop," and seems primarily interested in deconstructing what "pop" can be. If you've liked her in the past, you'll like this one. It's really great.
That is not necessarily true. I really don't like like a handful of the songs on here (especially 2-4) But, for the most part, from Belly of the Beat on is decent with a few real good tracks

I feel like Grimes made what Gaga was attempting with Artpop. She's always been a pop artist at heart, and this record reinforces it. Right now I gotta say Venus Fly and Kill V. Maim are my two favorite tracks so far.

I ended up falling asleep and not listening last night, but I'm a few songs in now and I actually like it! Kinda different for her but not bad at all.

And shit like this is why I do appreciate Juggs' new theory.
College aged kids who witnessed J Cole's guest appearance with Drake at ACL could be overheard the next day commenting on how he was truly the "best in the game."
People born after 1993 shouldn't be allowed to have opinions.

Also, Warren Haynes with Railroad Earth could find their happy arsses to the which stage late Saturday afternoon. At least Warren... remember back in 02' when he bounced back and forth between the Frog Brigade and Mule... Set the tone for the next 14 years haha. I could see Warren hosting a super jam at some point. Did anybody catch the Derek Trucks super jam a few years back? I remember smoking a doob with an older fella who was there with his family... He said his wife muffed up by not coming to the super jam. Good times man. One more thing... Moe. late night.
Classixx has a new single. Would love to see them again its been a couple of years.
Saw them do a live set at Outside Lands, they were wonderful. I would be down for this.
For sure, I saw them do a live set in Asheville at the Orange Peel. Probably less than 100 people there and still one of the best dance parties I have ever been to.

Apparently Halsey sold out Madison Square Garden (9 months in advance) and the majority of her Badlands US tour were sold out dates as well. Where do yall think she would get billed? When I first heard of her I was thinking closing Thursday but now I'm thinking there's no way in hell. Maybe sunset Which?

She SOLD OUT MSG?
Jesus Christ.
I saw her at U Hall back in March; was about 15 feet away from her as she performed for >500 people. Glad I got that in while I could! Ain't never happening again apparently - I knew her popularity had increased greatly since then, but I didn't realize by how much.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Jeez she's that big already? Her album was so middle-of-the-road too.

But yeah, I was pretty shocked when she posted this picture:

I'd never heard of this person, but her album was top 10 in 9 countries.
I'm a little baffled by this just because she's not much different than the other big "alt-pop" singers out there right now (i.e. Tove Lo, MØ, etc) but all the power to her. Kind of hoping she stays away from Roo though, just so she doesn't take up a high lineup slot

Isn't there a theatre attached to MSG? Is that what she sold out? Not the arena.

Really good! She's got great energy and stage presence; doesn't hurt that she's hot as fuck, either.

I have never been to MSG so I don't know what I'm looking at, but the link below shows the seating for the venue if that helps? I think it's the arena.

I still don't think she would be too incredibly high. I'd think somewhere in the 18th-25th range but I could be way off with that.
