Miami Horror was a popular guess to the clue which sparked all the ridiculous Carrie Underwood talk. If that was the answer, A- I'd be pleased because, yay, Miami Horror! but also B- I'd never try to solve the RooClues that required more than two brain cells again because that is a terrible clue.
𝕤𝕨𝕖𝕖𝕥 𝕔𝕒𝕣𝕠𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕒 , how's the Battles listening session treating you?
It went very very well. I loved Mirrored and Gloss Drop, I haven't listened to the third album yet though. I just listened to them once through, I think I liked Gloss Drop better though! Still some amazing songs on Mirrored though. I was feeling Florence's new album for the moment so I took a break from Battles for now haha. I'll listen to La Di Da Di soon

Hey guys, kinda late to the party. Anyone hear any rumors on the underground hip hop scene? Doomtree, Death Grips, Scoobius Pip, Die Antwoord? Any rumors of them being there? Thanks!
DJ Koze is definitely the most surprising thing on Coachella's undercard, imo. Rothric and I would boogie so hard at that show, if he were to magically crossover.
That said, I've been waiting since '11 to see BADBADNOTGOOD and the possibility of that crossover is too much.
Goddamn why did I agree to work from 7-7 next Tuesday?
Father John Misty just announced a tour. He does dates across the US throughout April then heads to Europe in May. No dates in June but he has two Euro dates at the beginning of July. He'll probably stay in Europe all summer, right?

Why is DJ Koze a surprise to you? He's a year overdue for the Yuma after the success of his album and "All That Matters" so frankly it's not surprising at all.
They are at Okechobee and Forecastle with a gap in June ... I'd say they are likely to come back, it's at least very possible. They were tremendous in 2014.

It's surprising to me because I haven't had a single conversation with any person in real life that had any idea who DJ Koze is, I rarely see him written about even on here (the nerdiest place to talk about music I've ever participated in), and - being that he's from Germany - he spends most of his time playing around Europe. I'm completely unaware of his popularity outside of the internet, so maybe you know something I don't.
That said, I honestly don't think acts like DJ Koze are "overdue" to play anywhere, but that's just me. Like, I could easily say that Simian Mobile Disco are overdue to play 'Roo, but that is ultimately meaningless because SMD doesn't owe me shit.

He's played NYC like 6 times the last two years, he is always great to see spin. Not bashing you, he just fits the mold of who has been booked for Yuma tent since its inception; I'm surprised it took this log for the booking. I'm guessing house/techno is not a big scene where you are?
Edit: just saw you're in MN - obviously not the same scene. He's great but the more time I spend around here the more I realize he's not the type of act to be booked by Bonaroo. Shame, really.

No, not the same scene at all. But what you really have to consider is that sure, he's played NYC circa 6 times in the past two years, but it's not like he's actively touring the US. That's more what I meant. The music that California and NY get is in absolutely no way representative of the state of live music in the whole country.
But, I guess I was right when I said that you know something I don't, because I've never been to Coachella.
Anyway, this conversation is sort of moot now anyway, because it doesn't seem likely he'd be a crossover since he's playing Field Day the 11/12th.

What is this "All That Matters" you speak of? I was only aware of his DJ Kicks and XTC single this year.
And ya, the only place he really plays in the States is NYC, with maybe a Chicago date thrown in there. So consider yourself lucky.
And agreed, the chances of him getting booked for Bonnaroo are slim to none.
I have higher hopes for him being added to Levitation, and even that's a super long shot.
Yep, Kölsch does All That Matters, also from two years ago. 1977 and Amygdala were two albums my roommates and I couldn't get enough of that year
If the recommendation comes from a fellow Koze lover, I'll have to give it a shot!
I was actually just thinking about how I stumbled across DJ Koze. I can't pinpoint it to anything specific, so I definitely picked it up from someone in the Now Playing thread (one of the best, if not the best, threads on this site).
Would love to remember who it was, so I can hug them
Amygdala and Reincarnations Vol 2 are part of my psyche now. When they play, my brain/body just goes to a happy place. Dude's got a line into my brain.

Yeah I think everyone's pretty much expecting them to be there. Two of them play in Leon Bridges band so it'd be a really easy booking for Roo. The new album just solidifies that

After seeing Shakey Beats I hope Roo gets Classixx, Yeasayer, Com Truise, and Treasure Fingers(he would be perfect in the Cherub late night stuff spot)
Pretty sure it was mentioned in here before but man, Mercury Rev showing up on the lineup would be a welcome surprise. I've been rocking See You On the Other Side quite a bit lately and can just tell that their sound would translate live amazingly. They don't seem to have anything on books for the summer...yet. Any reason to think they couldn't be there?
Reallllly hope we get that crossover from GB. But I kinda doubt we do; I'm thinking we will share M83, Death Cab, CHVRCHES, oMaM, and Haim. How many crossover generally?
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

Given that it's her first solo show since 2012, I'm really hoping she isn't planning on coming over to the state just for a one-off.
Or, you know, she just does a bunch of Euro fests instead.
