Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.

Reallllly hope we get that crossover from GB. But I kinda doubt we do; I'm thinking we will share M83, Death Cab, CHVRCHES, oMaM, and Haim. How many crossover generally?
Last year the top shared names were Deadmau5, MMJ, Flume, The War on Drugs, SBTRKT, & Flying Lotus. (edit- whoops, Florence too) I'm thinking the five you said are possible, also possibly Two Door Cinema Club, Father John Misty, & Big Grams.
Dream Theater, Sister Hazel, Tedeschi Trucks Band all have new albums coming out, how many would like any of them to play.
I've always wanted DT on the farm. I mentioned it earlier in this thread but at the moment they have a very limited NA tour in the spring with no southern dates.

Dream Theater would be amazing on the farm, I would love for them to get a LN spot, where would they play in your opinion.
Also just for the hell of it, with new albums coming out. Panic at the disco, Sia, 1975, miike snow, st. Lucia, wolfmother, white denim, daughter, simple plan, polica, satigold, Diiv, wild nothing, the wild feathers and elliphant all will have new albums out by then and based on that Bonnaroo always seems to book artists with new albums coming out around when Roo is actually going on, I expect some of these.

If Simple Plan were at Roo, 10-year-old me would do its best to get me to go to their set.

id go catch them too just cause of m childhood, but I recently heard their new song with.. Nelly???? Lol and it was god awful. Haven't listened to anything else by them that new. But still seems like a good get for Roo since Firefly got Blink and Hangout got Panic, I'd love to get the Offspring the most. But simple plan would draw a fun sing a long crowd.

Can somebody give me advice as I begin listening to Death Cab for Cutie? What album to start with? Are all of their albums worth it? Should I even bother at all? From lightly researching them it seems like Transatlanticism is a great album and they have few other "good" albums that aren't overwhelmingly exciting. Help me out.

Definitely check out Transatlanticism. The albums after that don't quite match up to it, but they each have a few solid tracks that they'll play live. Narrow Stairs is another one worth checking out. As far as what to expect for their setlist, I imagine it will be very similar to this:

My favorite, hands down, is Narrow Stairs. I think the majority of Death Cab fans would say Transatlanticism though, and I think for a starting point, that's the right album. Then go onto Plans (which has I Will Follow You Into the Dark) and from there, to Narrow Stairs. Their two most recents albums, Kintsungi (2015) and Codes and Keys (2011) don't hit me emotionally like the other three I just listed, but they're both good albums. Just not fantastic, IMO.
Notable tracks, from across the board:
I Will Follow You Into the Dark (duh) Crooked Teeth Cath... Title and Registration Transatlanticism A Lack of Color Passenger Seat Marching Bands of Manhattan A Movie Script Ending Grapevine Fires Bixby Canyon Bridge I Will Possess Your Heart The Ice Is Getting Thinner Talking Bird
I've been a fan since ~6th grade and have yet to see them live - been a long time coming for me, I'm excited.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
We have the facts and we're voting yes Something about airplanes Transaltanticism Plans
I love deathcab, We have facts, is by far my favorite album. But I'd start with those above and then explore narrow stairs to the newest albums. There's a couple other older ones, they are mostly different variations of songs.

Given your love of sadness, I'm surprised with the lack of What Sarah Said on here.
Plans is probably my favorite DC album. Can't go wrong with starting and Transatlanticism though.

Mine as well. Really the only two albums I am a fan of are Plans and Transatlanticism.
I thought both were really good though. Hoping they're indeed on the Roo lineup.
I just checked a few setlists from their most recent festival performances (Glastonbury, Northside, Southside, etc. from 2015), and a few things to note:
1) Looks like they don't always do I Will Follow You Into the Dark; only saw it once on the five or six setlists I just checked out. 2) I Will Possess Your Heart and Soul Meets Body and Transatlanticism and Crooked Teeth appeared on all of them (yay). 3) About 1/3 their newer stuff, 2/3 older, seems like a fair estimate from what I see here.

Lollllll, well, thats one way to put it! Haha it isn't sadness I love, though, just sad as fuck music.
And, I actually do really love What Sarah Said. I was just listing favorite tracks off the top of my head, though, so I knew I was bound to forget some. The Ice Is Getting Thinner might give What Sarah Said a run for its money in the sadness department - very different types of sadness, though.
I'm surprised more people don't like Narrow Stairs. Front to back, I think it flows so well and has some of my very favorite DCFC songs on it. Plans is a close second for me though.

It's a totally pipe dream, but I would love to see a "Funk on the Farm" superjam with Chromeo and friends. I know it's too soon for them to come back, but with them on the Shaky Beats lineup, a guy can dream.

Plans was my favorite as a youngin. Transatlantacism is great too.
For what it's worth, Rummy 500 Narrow Stairs is my favorite Death Cab album too. I really hope Death Cab ends up being there. I haven't listened to them in what feels like years and when I was in middle school, I was all about that band. My computer broke down when I was mid- high school and I never redownloaded several DCFC albums I had. I'd appreciate the incentive.

You are in for such a good time, they put on an excellent show. I won't miss their set for much else, and I've seen them twice already.
Also, Narrow Stairs is also my favorite. In order my preference goes:
Narrow Stairs Transatlanticism The Photo Album We Have the Facts... Plans Codes & Keys Something About Airplanes Kintsugi
Each album has great songs though. I'm stoked for this set
Where would you all put the postal service album if it were part of DCFC's catalogue?
All the way to the top! Loved every song on that album. Transatlanticism is a good record too but has couple of songs I thought didn't fit the album very well.
Their catalog offers quite a few great songs but not any great albums. IMO

Stop after 2004.
Some of my favorite DCFC songs came after 2004 :/
Plans had some great songs- Marching Bands of Manhattan, Someday You Will Be Loved, Crooked Teeth, What Sarah Said (when you really just want your heart ripped out), & Brothers On a Hotel Bed. I think Narrow Stairs is their best album and I can't skip a song when I listen to it. My favorites here would be Bixby Canyon Bridge, I Will Possess Your Heart, No Sunlight, Cath..., Grapevine Fires, Long Division, Your New Twin Sized Bed, & The Ice Is Getting Thinner. (Again, my favorite album so my favorites are most of the album.. lol) Also, I even like a handful of songs from the most recent albums, even though overall they are nothing in comparison to the rest of their discography. Codes & Keys gave us Unobstructed Views, Monday Morning, and Underneath the Sycamore, and from Kintsugi I loved the singles (Black Sun, The Ghosts of Beverly Drive), and You've Haunted Me All My Life (this one gives me all the chills).

I was mostly joking. I listened to plenty of DCFC in college, but I lost interest around that time. I've probably listened to Plans once or twice around the time it was released, and I wasn't a fan. I've never even heard Narrow Stairs or anything after. I don't think I'll ever like a DCFC song more than Title Track, though.

The undercard get that I want more than anything might be Floating Points. Only one US date this year (Moogfest) and they're in the UK on Sat/Sun, so it's really only a Thursday possiblity. A man can dream.
It's best to watch this whole thing, but jump to 9:00 if you need to be sold.
