I think a lot of repeat acts from 2013 will make it next year ex: Haim, Alt-J, Father John Misty, Of Monsters and Men, Porter, Tame Impala.
Lorde/Lana/Future Islands/Modest Mouse/Brand New are all overdue. I think Viet Cong will get the Thursday angry band slot.
I would like to see all of those except Porter.
Have you heard Porter's last album? It's not incredible or anything but definitely a different direction and his last tour was getting amazing reviews. He sounds more like M83 and Passion Pit than Skrillex now. I'd probably be at his show barring conflicts.

Porters new stuff is really good. I saw him with bassnectar before and I liked him a lot more. I just don't get all the bassnectar hype. When see his live show I feel like I'm in the back of a 17 year olds Honda civic while he's blasting trap music over his Sony explodes, and he keeps looking at me shaking his head with this Douchey grin on his face as his car rattles and he says "Pretty Fucking sweet, huh?" And I'm just like "I mean, I guess I can't really tell what the song is because it's just overly obnoxious bass." And he just keeps shaking his head at me with that douche smirk and says "I know right! It's amazing!" And I'm just thinking "No... Not really... Not at all." Kinda like that.

He sounds like M83 and Passion Pit the way a McRib sandwich resembles actual ribs.
I think you're overrating Passion Pit in that comparison but I mostly agree. I'm not above eating a McRib tho.

This is why i am happy this guy came back.... made me spit up my drink.
I want Frank Ocean back next year, especially if his new album is coming out next month.
Didn't he release a song from it a few months back? I just remember being underwhelmed. And I looooooovvveee Frank Ocean. I would love for him to play again.

I'll third that notion. I just got into Channel Orange a few months ago, and I would love to see him at a festival. Unfortunately, I think he's highly unlikely given that he just played two years ago. He has a reputation for being somewhat elusive on the festival circuit.

The fact that he has a Grateful Dead-esque following also baffles me.

Yeah, they're just blindly following him at this point because his music/shows aren't the same. I am bitter because I missed D'Angelo for him because I listened to my bass head friends preaching their love for him and I will never forgive myself for it

I don't hate the guy but his live show is mediocre at best. His love he gets on the inforoo Facebook is absurd, yet not surprising.

Everyone in my group went to Bassnectar, but my girlfriend and I happily went to D'Angelo. No regrets
Guys... If roo (or any fest for that matter) books Anklepants (and preferably gives him a LN) I'll buy a ticket no matter who else is on the lineup.
Yes... He has what I refer to as a "dancing dilnose" and that's just part of his charm. I do really love how he ridicules the people who stayed outside or came in and didn't dance because I've always hated that people at Boiler Room shows aren't dancing.
Weird he is playing here tomorrow. I was thinking about going because an Aligning Minds is opening for him they always put on a good show and it only 10$. Checking some of his stuff out now. Should be a fun show.
Acts that would make sense that Bonnaroo will undoubtedly miss out on: Grimes, Slow Magic, Badbadnotgood, Sufjan, Toro Y Moi (unless by some miracle they give him the Sunday tent closer slot), Kamasi, Titus Andronicus, Nicolas Jaar, Shamir.

Nah, bonnaroo will probably book two of them (if we are lucky) They'd all be great shows. Sufjan would be possibly one of the greatest latenights ever. Shamir should be the Jungle-esque act for Thursday next year, possibly in Tove Lo's time slot and I'd be sooooo down for that. But Titus and Sufjan are the two acts I'm hoping for most out of the ones you listed. I honestly might go if they can just book those two and one headliner I love #setthebarlow #requirementsstillwontbemet

I'm really counting on 2016 being the year we get Grimes.

Am I the only person on inforoo that likes Bassnectar and enjoyed the Bassnectar show this year?
It's nothing compared to the Kanye/Jack White hatred last year, but far and away it seems Bassnectar is the most disliked act of 2015. Mostly because of soundbleed, but plenty of inforoo'ers who were at the show expressed their disappointment as well.
I dunno. It was my first time actually seeing a full Bassnectar set. I was in the VIP Which Pit and danced and had a blast. I thought the visuals were great, the sound was great. It was a lot of fun and a lot more "elevated" than I thought it would be.
I don't think Bassnectar is the greatest producer or anything, but I like a lot of his tracks and I think he has a great ear for tonality. He locks on to those notes that are for some reason pleasing to my brain. Kind of like the brown note makes you poop, some of the notes Bassnectar holds cause some sort of chemical to fire off in my brain and make me feel dumb or excited or just good. And a lot of those notes happen in the midbass frequencies.
anywho not trying to convince anyone of anything, just wanted to present a counterpoint to the other reviews.

I enjoyed Bassnectars set this year. I lucked out and made it into the pit as they were shutting it off.
I hadn't seen Bassnectar since 2010-2011, so was looking forward to seeing him again.
I thought it was a good show, but not amazing. Didn't crack my top 10, but I'd go to that set again doing it all over. D'Angelo holds a total of 0 interest for me, and that probably makes me a terrible person, but fuck it.
I get the sound bleed issues though. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to put D'Angelo against Bassnectar was thinking out of their ass.
"Wait, you mean to tell me that Bassnectar might have a copious amount of bass that will drown out quiet acts on other stages? Keep your foolish predictions to yourself!"
I disagree with the comments about Bassnectar just sounding like a teenager's car rattling from the bass. The bass massive, and that's part of the sound, but there are other beautiful components happening too. I thought the sound was fantastic actually, best I've ever heard the Which sound.
The worst part, was some douche thought it would be fun to get a bottle of talcum powder, take the top off, and spin/throw it into the crowd. Shit hit me right in the face. My backpack still has talc on it!

I thought that Sufjan didn't like playing festivals? Or it was a rare thing.

I thought I was the only person who has zero interest in D'Angelo. Respect the guy's sound and talent, its just not my style. And I knew the Superjam would be way too packed for me to get a space, so I ended up at Bassnectar by default.
Glad I wasn't the only one that enjoyed myself! Being in a pit at Which makes a huge difference.

I didn't mind Bassnectars set, but as someone put it, his cult like following is absurd. My brother is part of this group and all his friends are as well. They went to 3 days of bassnectar at red rocks then followed him to bonnaroo, now they're all trying to figure out how much day tickets to MIa are going to cost so they can see him there.
his concert was cool, and i'll probably get hate from this, but it is like modern day head banging. I was looking around and literally just saw tons of dudes thrashing their heads at every drop. However i don't think he deserves to have this cult following and i don't think i would ever sit there and listen to a full bassnectar album.

A fair critique, thanks for sharing. I agree Bassnectar's music is to some fans today kind of like metal was for me in the 90s. Something intense to bang your head too, which is probably one reason why I like it.
I can't be critical of anyone for following an act around since I've been doing the Phish thing for 15 years. At least today I realize how absurd it is, but hell going to a shitload of shows and driving all around is a really fun thing to do with your friends, regardless of the music at the end of the journey.

D'Angelo didn't really play any of the quiter songs. I was really looking forward to Another Life and Til It's Done. I wonder if the sound bleed had anything to do with the song selection.
