I'd love a repeat of the madness that was A$AP Rocky in 2013. Throw in some smaller names like Vince Staples, Mick Jenkins, Goldlink...Some Classic acts like E-40, Young Jeezy, or T.I...maybe a Schoolboy Q and a DJ Mustard...because why the hell not.... knowing my luck though it will be Eminem, Drake & Lil Wayne.

Eminem and Lil Wayne have already played so we're good on that. I'd think a DJ Mustard set would be hilariously bad. I wonder if ASAP Rocky could be the first artist to start some moshpits at the Which Stage, not sure anyone has done that yet.

Royal blood had a few pits going, plus it was in the blazing heat which was impressive.
I just hope that they don't put Rocky in a tent like they did in 2013...right after Tame Impala...that was madness. Two great shows...but two big for tents. A$AP Rocky was jumping off the side barriers and crowd surfing off the very edge of the tent...it was wild. Craziest rap show I have even witnessed. I just wish less 200+ pound dudes with backpacks and hiking boots on would crowd surf... being with a group of smaller girls and having one of those dudes come crashing down on you let alone 10 or 15 of them back to back...madness. Great show regardless though. They definitely need to bring A$AP rocky, or the whole mob back to the farm next year.
I like J. Cole. He's not the best, not an innovator, I'd even say he's kinda vanilla. But a really good, vanilla bean, vanilla. Really rich. Sometimes a really good basic is all you need. Will he change the game? No. But he will consistently put on average to good material.
From either side of the fence I feel like this was a great article.
Yeah, I enjoyed it. Arguing musical taste on the internet can make you feel like your head is stuck in an oven. I like how the overwhelming joy of everyone at the J Cole show moved the writer so much that he was ready to defend him on the internet over jokes he had made himself. The end was funny. The guy named Mark convinces Shea that he is not a member of this generation and that's why he doesn't get Cole. Then, Shea checks Mark's Twitter handle and realizes that guy was a knucklehead and he was right about J Cole being boring after all.
I would like Blackalicious lower on the lineup. Although I'm sure I'll have plenty of chances I haven't seen Snoop yet. I really hope there is some good hip hop on the lineup. Ideal names for me J. Cole Snoop Dogg A$AP Rocky Big Boi X Phantogram Action Bronson Mos Def Jurrasic Five Joey Bada$$ Mick Jenkins
J. Cole A$AP Rocky Mac Miller MMG Curren$y Action Bronson w/ Food Truck Ishdarr Future & Co. (DJ Esco and Metro Boomin) Mick Jenkins B.o.B. Travis Scott
Is the Ghostface and Doom thing just a one off for III points? If not, they should totally get on that...
Considering Doom's track record, I think we should all hold our breath on this. Besides, the whole thing is kind of goofy - only Ghostface will be live, at the venue, while Doom will be elsewhere, and performing via a screen on stage. There's so much that could go completely wrong here.
Agreed. There's a lot that could go wrong, but dammit it's intriguing. I was more so hoping that this finally kick started that whole project they were supposedly working on forever. I'd take either one, but the joint performance is something I can't ignore.
Yeah, I've been hoping for a late night Doomstarks show ever since the III Points lineup came out. I agree it is odd and could totally blow, but I hope not. Honestly though, the part that intrigues me most is, wherever Doom is performing, what will it be like? Just think how awkward it would be to perform to just a camera and few people, with no crowd to feed off of. Unless, he is going to be doing a show at the same time elsewhere and they are going to "teleport" Ghostface there the same way they're "teleporting" Doom to Miami

FWIW, supposedly the only hold up on the DOOMStarks LP is Doom taking his sweet ass time finishing his parts, at least according to Ghostface.
It's not like Doom hasn't been doing other projects, as well. NehruvianDOOM showed he was still capable of working. It's sad that at a certain time your speculation just has to boil down to, "well that's just Doom being Doom."
I could fully see Ghostface just having cranked out his part and waiting there.
Like I said, I'd be happy for both of them, but I'd be more than happy with just one of them, too. Most likely Ghostface.
If DOOM is willing to flake on Madlib and Mos Def on NYC/other dates in the past -- I really don't see why promoters would bother taking that type of risk in the future.
knowing my luck though it will be Eminem, Drake & Lil Wayne.
Eminem was too high up on the line up to grant a repeat without a devastating album. IMO Drake. Sure. It could happen, but that Coach performance was lackluster at best, and while it goes with Bonnaroo's late to the party attitude about grabbing top liners, meh. Lil'Wayne. Goddamn that Which Stage show was a disgrace - one can only hope those running the show noticed too.

Honestly, this whole "Doom beams in from another location" schtick is probably for the best. He doesn't have to go anywhere at all. Either that, or his whole bit is prerecorded and shown on a screen, which would seem to negate the "interactive" promise they're making, but whatever. But the bottom line is, if he doesn't actually have to be there, he can't disappoint a crowd by not showing up.
True true.. I'll admit the purist in me knows I would feel wary/lackluster if there was a Ghostface show + "Doom" supposedly live from blah blah blah. Also assuming such a thing would be at the Other Tent - and I can't imagine how it would be an immersive situation and not just feel like them playing a video on the screens. I would trade Ghost & Rae or even Method Man solo for that any day.
Trip hop Superjam... I would be at Roo just for that if it happened
...I don't think you know what that is.
Are you really gonna complain because I used the word that applies to Portishead and other such artists of that nature to describe a band that is clearly trippy hip hop? Allow me to apologize to appease pretentious classifications. I guess the correct term would be an "experimental, electronic-centric hip hop with jazz flavor" super jam... Yeah, that's real catchy

Labels are important!

No, like I get what you're doing, but it's just weird to use a word that refers to a very specific genre of music in reference to something that is clearly not the same.
Ok ok, I gotcha and I agree. I just don't like calling FlyLo's stuff "experimental hip hop" because that's such a loose description. And trip hop is always the first thing that comes to mind because it's trippy hip hop, though it is clearly not actual trip hop
