Is it just wishful thinking on my part to wonder why in the world someone like Gilmour would even bother with a US leg of the tour if it is going to be less than a month long?? I guess I just don't see him having an April - late June gap in his dates. I still think Coachella would be more likely than Roo, but he does play LA like a month before.
Could someone please tell me why this is so unlikely to happen?? I think Billy Joel and Elton John were at least as unlikely as he is this year. They do play a lot more often than Gilmour but you don't see them at the top of too many festival lineups either.
I'm just trying to convince myself that there is a reason for his tour gap and that reason is Bonnaroo.
Either way I've got my ticket for Chicago ready in case / when I am wrong!
I randomly stumbled upon an evening with David Gilmour a few nights ago and it was perhaps the greatest musical experience of my semi-young life. Still pinching myself.

Really? That makes me even more happy you got to experience that! Bucket list item checked off!
David Gilmour is one of, if not the biggest, name left on my dwindling bucket list. I'm so bummed he has never come anywhere near me. What are the odds of him being at Coach for next year?

Hopefully. I would like to see either him or Waters before they're both gone

how?
I took the right bus home while sightseeing in Rome. I noticed a line forming outside the Circo Maximo, saw David's tour being advertised, jumped on my phone right then and was able to somehow land two tickets. I had planned my trip prior to his tour dates being announced and at the time Pompeii was his only Italian show (those tickets ended up going for around $1000). I even considered rerouting my trip to catch him in Germany, but the cost would have been too great. I stopped looking into it. Then, apparently, sometime around Coachella he added two dates in Rome while I wasn't paying attention. Sunday was sold out, but they released a few Saturday tickets the day of the show. So I discovered his show in passing, bought tickets, and saw him two hours later - in this fucking ancient, open-air venue, under a beautiful Italian sky.

Very low. I expect that April run to be it for North American dates.

Damn man, that sounds awesome! Every time I hear about your trip I get extremely jealous. What's next? Melt?

Where are you between now and Melt? Probably gonna hit up Berghain or Watergate this weekend.
Go to Berghain for Danny Daze.
Well the obvious unfortunate part about Berghain is you are never guaranteed to get in and see the DJ you want to see. I'd be pressing my luck to get in twice, but I'll have two females with me so I'd say my chances are slightly better.

Reading this gave me goosebumps. I would've cried the whole time. What luck! That's really, truly amazing!

Gonna jump on the jelly bandwagon. Seeing him in Toronto a few months back was fucking great, and that was in a boring old stadium. But next to the goddamn Colosseum? Never wash those eyes again.
