Don't care much for the lineup thus far, but I attended NFF on Saturday afternoon last year and had such a great time. This is one of the few festivals worth attending just for the experience itself.
Lucius teased a show announcement in NYC soon. I have a hunch that will fall right around Newport. Maybe NFF Sunday and Summerstage the Monday after like Dawes and First Aid Kit did last year?

So what is everyone's opinion on Ryan Adams making his way back to the fort? He was amazing in 2014 as a headliner but is there a possibility for his return since he is playing Xponential on July 22?

I doubt it, way too soon. Additionally I'd rather see someone else come. Would be too redundant, too soon for a headliner

I don't think you can complain about newport and redundancy, given that dawes, deer tick and trampled by turtles play literally every other year at this point (as much as I absolutely love them)

Is it me or is this lineup already better than usual?
Yeah I think it's the best start in years.
I think it's still too early to tell. The festival doesn't really give us any perspective on where in each day's hierarchy the announced Artyst fall. If everyone from here on out is smaller artists that fill in the gap's for a flight of the Concorde's and Norah Jones Friday Saturday billing, I'll be a little disappointed. If most of the future announcements are higher on the billing, yes I agree we are in for an epic lineup.

If Newport listed the whole lineup as shaded blocks, then revealed where in the daily list each artist was as they were announced, I could accurately predict whether this lineup was looking good or great.

To be honest, I love the mystery of where artists land on the lineup. This lineup is fantastic so far and I can't wait to see who they'll add next - I look forward to every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning
