With this years Friday (and last year), I could see them doing half days. Starting at 5 and going through the night. I'm really really hoping that's not the case though.

Artist-in-Residence guesses? Historically, it's always been someone on the "classical" side of contemporary music (Terry Riley, Steve Reich, and Kronos Quartet)... my guesses are Pauline Oliveros, La Monte Young, or a cross-over artist like David Byrne. It'd be great to have Philip Glass, but I know his opera, Satyagraha, is performing in Germany that weekend (not sure if he's in attendance or not).
We're about a month out from the Residence announcement. Teases after that till the official drop in November. I think they teased everyone on the initial (minus like 2 or 3 artists).
FYI, I switched up to the Holiday Inn. They have an indoor pool and the Marriott doesn't. Saved $40 bucks and (even more important) everyone gets to see me in a Speedo.

I think you'll like it better. The walk to the KMA is nothing, and I am almost positive that they did a remodel there within the last couple years.
