Not sure if the film schedule did this, but suddenly I have a few conflicts that I hadn't noticed before (Anthony Braxton Tentet & Neif-Norf), etc. Also, pretty bummed that I bought my plane ticket last week, not realizing there would be films on Sunday (I leave in the early afternoon). I thought they said there was going to be an outdoor show, but that would be the only major addition for Sunday. And last complaint: Space is the Place cuts into Tony Conrad. Would love to see the whole film in its 35mm glory!

It appears the new venue is going to be a building at the corner of West Depot and Williams St. It's been under renovation for a little bit with it supposedly becoming a brewery/restaurant the last I saw an article about it. If you wanna compare the hint image, here's a link from the street view of the building below.
Bad news is that it's even farther off than the Standard, so give up on transitioning from The Bijou to the new venue quickly.
Edit: btw, the street view is from December 2015. It looks much nicer now.
Big Ears Festival will come to a riveting, celebratory conclusion with a performance of the festival’s 2016 Composer-in-Residence John Luther Adams’ outdoor masterpiece Inuksuit, featuring up to 99 percussionists, around Mead’s Quarry at Ijams Nature Center at 12 noon on Sunday, April 3. Thanks to the generous support of Moxley Carmichael, the Big Ears grand finale performance will be free and open to the public.
I'll be ok with missing that. Sadly, I'll have a hell of a drive in front of me.

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Mead's Quarry is the best.
If anyone has the energy, there's the Ross Marble Quarry area in the same area. It's worth the walk if people have time afterward.

Not only will our 5th venue “The Sanctuary” play host to John Luther Adams’ “Veils and Vesper,” we’ll also be presenting a handful of additional performances yet to be announced. Stay tuned next week for more information!
So can I start getting my hopes up for a Braxton/Wolf Eyes set now?

Lambchop live scoring Morrison's Dockworker's Dream. More of a reason for Rummy 500 to show up on Friday.
I really truly might....right now, i'm planning to go to Atlanta the weekend before, then to Charlotte for Mon/Tues, Asheville after that...and then onto Knoxville. Either Friday or Saturday. TBD.

I vote Friday.
Alert to all of Inforoo: proof that Dave doesn't hate me after all!
But in all seriousness, the main thing holding me back is that painful painful conflict at the end of Friday night: why the hell did they schedule Nico's set against Yo La/Lambchop? Do I really want to spend $50 to be sad that I can only see one of the two?

Joe Henry is the shiz. Ask Madonna. They're family, after all. I haven't seen him in years and Ribot is one of my favorite living guitarist. Should be an incredible set.
You should let the venues dictate your conflicts, imo. See which would be an easier travel to. Like I had planned on YLT + Lambchop but I'm doing Jaar now (I think) if that venue is closer to the Standard.

I was going more for the long con where I acted like I was excited to see you then just avoided you for twice as long, but you think what you wanna think.

I was gonna try my hand at making a quick map if I have time this weekend. I'll post it if I get to it and it doesn't look like shit.
