At the urge of a friend I actually gave it a listen. First to be painfully honest, I wanted to hate this album. It is at times terrible and obnoxious in the same way that The Flaming Lips are. The first single Do It, is the worst song on the album. But the album as a whole; really isn't bad. Their are a few moments where I might as well be listening to a track by Grimes; others that are actually soulful and introspective. I don't know. I still haven't fully digested this thing I guess.
I wouldn't be shocked if she actually shows up on the lineup. I don't know if they'd actually take a chance on her headlining. But look at the resume; TN native, psychedelic style that kind of fits in with what Roo has booked in the past. I don't know. The backlash would be huge. But listening to this album, I don't think she would be out of place. Anyway just thinking out loud.

I would. If you don't want to listen to the whole thing; start with this track. The intro is one of those cringe worthy moments. But from there, it kind of goes to a not so horrible place.

I tried yesterday... it gets all my nopes. I really really tried, but that Do It song is fucking horrible. I couldn't get past it.
Unfortunately, I do have to agree with @gambit88 in the fact that she could be on the Bonnaroo lineup. I have seen that sort of speculation in a couple of other places as well...not reputable sources/places mind you.

This is easily the best album review I've read in a while. "It's obnoxious and terrible, like I expected, although some parts were sorta tolerable."
I wouldn't mind a Miley Cyrus superjam. It'd be an excuse to bring back The Flaming Lips, and then have rappers like Rae Sremmurd and Juicy J. It could be a crazy a mix of psychedelic, pop, and hip hop. It could be a fun goofy time, even if it turned out to be a disaster. Not sure how well liked she is in the mainstream right now though. A lot of people seem to be taking Nicki Minaj's side as far as that VMAs situation goes.
If Bonnaroo booked Miley Cyrus, I would go see her show out of morbid curiosity.

Hey, I'm the one on record saying I do not hate her new album at all. It's very disjointed; their are parts that I groan at and parts that I actually think are pretty good. She is no where near the top of my list of acts I would want to see. But I am not against them booking her.
