I think it's the other. Some people are just close-minded to certain types of music. lol. It's okay but at least own it. Some pop songs turn into classics. Not saying Miley's ever will, but...
Lecture me about being too cool for pop music. Please.

It's not worth my time to lecture others on their music taste. I just say to open your mind and not listen to only what's in your indie collection of music. You might discover something you like outside your own grain.

You don't understand. It's precisely BECAUSE I'm such a fan and ardent defender of pop music that I find this pandering bullshit so offensive. You act like you're so enlightened and open minded, and your dismissing everyone who disagrees with you as a close minded hipster without having the first fucking clue whether they were being sincere.
No one has disagreed with me in this thread. I haven't dismissed anyone either... but I do think some people on this board can be close-minded and negative at times for a "radiate positivity festival's board". lol
rdk has provided a valuable contribution to this thread.
Also I think the inforoo FB group overlords should have required membership on the original boards before membership on the FB group. Allowing all and anyone to join has resulted in its divergent state, for what it is.
Went to this tour last night in Chiacgo...WOWWWWW! I was expecting a Miley show with the FLips doing a couple songs from their album with her, instead it was all Miley/FLips collabs and only one solo Miley song. The show was just bonkers, it was like a circa-2008 FLips show but just crazier. I hadn't heard much of their stuff together but it actually wasn't bad at all, really hope Roo can book this for late night.

saw the show in nyc and thought it was incredible, though my gf and I were in a different dimension that night. I already loved the album but I thought that it sounded way better live. it felt very much like just seeing the flaming lips with miley as the lead singer. if they did bring it to roo I hope they'd do a set of the dead petz material and then a set of flips stuff (kind of like 2010 with dark side) with Miley singing. her and wayne singing flaming lips songs could be amazing.
I showed up late and missed Dan Deacon, how was the set?
it was great but it was completely overshadowed by the dead petz. opening for them must be pretty daunting. my gf and I are pretty big dan deacon fans and haven't even discussed his set since the show.

Glad I didn't miss anything then haha. I drove in from NJ and parking was a nightmare (usually around Terminal 5 it's pretty easy to find a space). Took me 40 min circling 5 blocks before I finally said screw it and spent the $25 to park in a garage. Made it in literally just as Party in the USA was starting up. Such a fun show.
yeah we come from jersey too and it was unusually difficult to get street parking. luckily we were down there by 645 and parked on 55th after 15 minutes of searching. it took forever to get in the venue though. I've never seen terminal 5's security search people so thoroughly. the line went all the way around the corner for a while. we got in just in time for dan deacon.
