You guys are on it. I see lots I haven't seen listed so far. I just got off work and am going to see Oddisee now. Will attend to the rest of these listed when I get home. Don't you worry your pretty little heads. I have plenty more disappoint to deliver soon.
I don't know why I should be so surprised that you haven't heard of The Sting, given you've "definitely not" seen the other great Paul Newman / Robert Redford collab. I guarantee you've seen it homaged in TV and film many times, even if you didn't realise it.
I assure you, even if I have, I still can't even picture what movie this is... In addition, i'm not sure I've ever seen any Paul Newman or Robert Redford movie, let alone their "great collabs".
As a music lover, you owe it to yourself to see High Fidelity ASAP. We're watching this in December if you haven't seen it by then. Not up for debate.
I have been told sooooo many times to watch this movie. I could lie to you and say I'll watch it before you come, but lesbihonest, we both know that's not true....
Yet just yesterday you told me it was Azkaban! Which one is it, hmmmm? Flip-floppah!
WHOA! I can dislike PoA and still think that DHpt1 is a weak ass movie.... PoA I don't like for entirely different reasons than DHpt1... PoA just fucked with the book too much. Left things out while including things that had no business being in there. They changed things that are relevant to the story later in the series, which then caused those things to be changed too because the viewer had no reference for what should've happened.
Don't get me started bro. Do you reeeealllly want to go down this path, again?
Don't you worry your pretty little head though, we're still going to watch them both.
This reminds me.... the other day I was trying to describe a scene to @sleppyfiredrill where Norman McDonald is in a lumberjack outfit fucking a bear. We estblished this is out of Super Troopers, and not Norman McDonald.... but I have such a clear image of him dressed up and with a bear costume that I feel like it has to be from something....
Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Did he ever spoof the Super Trooper scene?! I can't be totally crazy here.....
I've seen the first one. I've seen the second one, but never all at one time. I've caught the entire movie broken up in multiple viewings, so I know what happens. I don't think I've seen the third, but I really want to. I think I've seen half of it, but never the whole thing. I know what happens there too though.
You know how some people have a "type". Like, the type of person they are attracted to generally? Well, if I have a "type" of movie, these are it. Save for Something About Mary, it isn't anything to write home about, I liked it well enough though.
Worth watching just to reach the rest of the world in terms of cultural expectation, IMO.
Horse head May your child be a masculine child Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse Revenge is a dish best served cold It's a Sicilian message... I can handle things! I'm smahht!
The list goes on..
Edit: Though admittedly I do have pubescent dreams of being a mobster. Why do you think I play Mafia so much?
The Godfather was a big deal for me because it's my dad's favorite movie. I'd just barely gotten to the age when it was somewhat appropriate for me to see a movie with this level of adult content. I remember my dad looking at me and saying, "You are old enough to watch The Godfather now. We are going to watch it tonight." And he sat me down and we watched it together. Great memory.
silliness. outlandish, flamboyant costumes and behaviors. hilarity.
if that is your think. i doubt you'd be alone.
is it a midnight showing?
Yes.
Is it going to be weird if I don't have a costume?
If it is anything like any of the Rocky Horror screenings I have been to, you probably won't be the only one without a costume but you will definitely be in the minority. Part of the enjoyment of that film comes from the crazy costume ball type screenings of it. It is a campy good time, and the more involved and participatory you are, the more fun it will be. but it won't be weird if you don't have a costume. If you haven't seen it before, maybe check out some of the songs on youtube. there will be sign alongs and dancing.
I live above an old theater that is doing a live interactive show tomorrow. Plan on taking the girl, as I know they usually sell-out these events.
What should I plan for? Don't know anything about the Rocky Horror Picture show. Should I have a buzz on?
Get buzzed and be ready to Time Warp and throw stuff around. I know the theatre that does the live showing here gives you a package upon entering of everything you need to throw around and be ridiculous.
Here's one or two for ya - broken up into groups to make it more manageable, because I'm a homie like that.

Magnolia (again, no idea what movie this is) Punch-Drunk Love (started watching this once on family vacation. I was like 14 or so and was bored. I should revisit as an adult) There Will Be Blood (Is this the oil field one? Idk for sure if I've seen it)

So its like a realllllly low chance I've actually seen anything in this genre) All the Bourne movies (As I said, I've only seen the first one) All the Bond movies (I've never seen a single Bond movie... that's a lie. I think I saw one of the ones with Daniel Craig. I don't remember) Point Break The Karate Kid Slacker (you should watch this because it's about Austin) (I think I have seen this actually. But I don't know... Is this the one where Vince Vaughn lives on a dude ranch?) Silence of the Lambs In Bruges
Die Hard (Nope, never seen any of the Die Hards) Die Hard 2 Die Hard With A Vengeance
As Mr. Dave Maynar said, I have seen this. I watched it on Youtube with some pretty ok people. I have only seen it that one time. I have never seen a live performance or viewing of it. But I would love to.
