Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
-Downtown I recommend a breakfast at either Eli's Table or Millers All Day.
-When I give my friends a Downtown tour (I just did one Monday actually) I usually do the Downtown walking loop. Walking down Market Street to East Bay to Waterfront Park back to East Bay to the Battery, and then down King Street until Calhoun St (Marion Square). Lots of historical buildings and Harbor views.
-For dinner (downtown) I prefer Lewis BBQ, Husk, or if it's still there Tattooed Moose (which is supposed to be moving to Park Circle).
-Park Circle is North Charleston. Jackrabbit Filly is my favorite place to eat there (contemporary Chinese).
-If looking for beach action, the more popular places are Folly Beach and Isle of Palms, but I'd recommend Sullivan's Island for something a little quieter. The beach has a huge gully brought on from Hurricane Floyd decades ago, so if you want waves you need to walk towards the end near the lighthouse, where you'll also find Fort Moultrie.
-North Charleston Coliseum has a lot of events going on (concerts, sporting events), and is also where they film all of the megachurch scenes in The Righteous Gemstones.
-Mount Pleasant, where I live, has the Old Village, where you can walk down the Pitt Street Bridge (formerly a trolly bridge that connected Mt. Pleasant and Sullivan's Island).
-Near Old Village is one of the more popular places to eat Page's Okra Grill for good southern cuisine. Also anywhere on Shem's Creek for good local seafood like Red's Ice House, Shem Creek Crab House, and Vickery's Bar and Grill. Liberty Tap Room and Grill is another good one even if it is a chain (the Mt. Pleasant location is where they shoot the lunch scenes in The Righteous Gemstones).
-For good local music, The Pour House on James Island is probably most popular. My brother's band plays there a lot. Tobin's Market and The Commodore are other good ones.
Miami recs? Not nightlife but cool things to see, places to eat.
I'd like to know the same but for Tampa
If you have transportation, check out Anna Maria Island over shit like Indian rocks beach. There are some cool Irish bars in Dunedin. Sarasota and Bradenton are pretty cool and the 10,000 islands. I’ve only stayed in Tampa a couple times so don’t have specific places that I would recommend you eat at. But spent is from there. I’m on mobile so not sure what his @ is, but if you hit him up, he will tell you what’s good.

Hey Druid, am I looking at Google maps wrong or is there absolutely nothing within miles of First Bank Amphitheatre in Franklin? No hotels, restaurants, bars nearby at all? My wife and I have tickets for Nine Inch Nails but if there's nowhere to stay nearby we might just drive back to her dad's place in Huntsville after the show

I think you'd have to go north on 65, going towards Nashville

You are correct. There is nothing anywhere near this place. It’s brand new and it’s like they just dropped in nowhereville. And be prepared. Traffic has been a CF.
You have to hop on the interstate and head back into town. Or stay in Franklin.

I’m not Druid but I will answer. Yeah it’s in the area between Franklin and Spring Hill aka middle of nowhere. Franklin, several miles north on 65, would be the closest place to find hotels and restaurants.

My Mom's in Spring Hill, want me to check and see if you can stay there?

That's so nice of you to volunteer your Mom's place. I'm sure she would't mind some rando strangers off a music forum crashing at her place. Think she will cook up some dinner too?

She's a shit cook, but if they are hungry after the show it'll be better than nothing.

Dayum. Dissing Momma's home cookin. I’m going to drive out to Spring Hill and tell her.
I’ve never done a trip by myself but I think it’s time. I need recs on places to go in March that are: 1. Warm (80 degrees plus) 2. Quiet- or at least has accomodations that are quiet 3. Not $2,000

I would prefer to fly somewhere.
This is actually pretty tough for me. I’ve got quiet but chilly, warm but noiser, quieter (and warmer) but hard to fly into.
My first thought is Savanna, GA. It’s always felt like New Orleans weird ass step sister. It’s more quiet and just charming. I purposefully get myself lost on walks there. The only problem is it’s not really one you fly to.

And not 80 in Mar. Pretty much you have to go to Fla or the islands.

St. George Island is warm, quiet, and can be less than $2,000. The St. George Inn is is an old B&B where I got my first job. It's a block north of the beach. Sitting on their balcony reading a book sounds like a great time in March. The Gibson Inn in Apalachicola is good too, you would just have two lang bridges between you and the beach. The entire area is quiet. You'd have about an hour drive the the nearest airport in Tallahasse or Panama City plus the cost of a rental car, so not sure if that would bust the budget.
I have peripheral benefits that allow me to fly standby and I have Thursday and Friday off. I'm thinking about making an impromptu trip down to Atlanta to see the Hawks play the Bulls. If I take the red eye out of Seattle I could be in Atlanta by noon and then I'd have to leave first thing Friday morning. Surely this has been discussed over and over, but which neighborhood should I send myself to if I do this, where should I stay, where should I avoid? I ask the lattermost question because if I could not get punched in the face repeatedly by a stranger again, that'd be super cool.

Midtown will offer the best balance of fun/convenient/safe. The stadium is downtown and there's plenty of affordable hotels around there but it also sucks and is not a good representation of Atlanta. If you stay near the Marta Red/Gold line anywhere between North Ave station and Arts Center then you will be able to get the hotel/game/airport without getting in a car.
If you don't mind using Lyft/Uber then on the east side is cool and fun. Lots of cool stuff happening between Summerhill/Grant Park/Cabbagetown/Old Fourth Ward/Little Five.
It's starting to get a little out of date because I moved to Chicago two years ago. But shoot me a PM if you have any other questions and I'll help you as best as I can.
As far as safety goes, the vast majority of Atlanta is safe. I can't imagine any reason that a tourist would wind up somewhere unsafe.
