I end up at Midway more because I tend to fly SW and that's where they go. It's also smaller and closer to the city. Since Chicago is your destination and not a (long) layover, I don't see any reason to choose O'Hare over Midway if there are comparable options.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Contemplating going to Chicago for a long weekend. Never been. Also, Midway or O'Hare - which one sucks less?
Depends on where you’re staying. I live right next to O’hare and hate flying into/out of Midway. Both have available L stops to get you into the city easily.
Chicago is a great, great food city. Do all the tourist food places - get a beef, Chicago dog, deep dish and tavern style.
the funniest thing about the Chicago beef thing is that I ask people who live here constantly where they get Italian beef and I think I'm doing it wrong and everybody agrees they just get theirs at Portillo's lmao. (lots of great local places to get a hot dog from though, but imo my personal favorite restaurant in the city is Le Sud.)

They key to a good beef is any place with great giardiniera. Portillo’s is fine, but they are all pretty similar.
South Western Michigan along the lake shoreline (staying somewhere between Benton Harbor and Grand Haven, but haven’t figured it out yet). Going at the end of June for a quick 3 day getaway. We are bringing our bikes with, so I’m hoping to find some great bike paths, hopefully along the lake.
We’re finally biting the bullet and taking the kids to Disney World in September. We’ve been to Disneyland, so this will check the Florida park off our list, and we can move on. Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to it and I’m sure it will be fun, but I’m glad that we can put more focus on exploring cities and nature for future trips.
Then I’m going to one of my favorite cities, New Orleans, for a week with friends in November. I can’t wait. Since I’ll be with friends instead of my kids, I’ll really focus on the food and nightlife scene while I’m down there. I’m also not renting a car this time because driving in New Orleans is just asking for trouble.

^^ All of this plus Malört and Kuma's Corner.
I had a layover at O'Hare a few weeks ago that reminded me how much I love the smallness of Midway.
Seconded Kumas.
Also recommend the italian breaded steak sandwich at Ricobenes. Pequods and Lou Malnatis are my favorite pizza places (Lou's inspired Horse the Band's Pizza EP)

I was just going to come here to say: Breaded Steak Sandwich over the Beef all day. I like Freddie’s.
Going to bring my kids and wife to a show at Red Rocks. Kids (11 & 14) first show and all our first time to RR. Looking for a recommendation on a place to stay. Denver or surrounding area is cool, just looking for a good area with stuff to do. Any suggestions on areas to narrow down the search? We've stayed in Boulder before, so looking to either stay in Denver or south or west if it's not too far from RR. Appreciate any suggestions!

I stayed in Golden for a RR show. Pretty close Uber ride and kind of a cool mountain town. No dispensaries there though so buy your stuff in Denver (but maybe with kids you aren't doing that). It did have a "family friendly version of Boulder" vibe to it

Thanks! My friend just went to WSMFP last weekend and they stayed in Golden, so that’s two votes for Golden!
Heard a rumor from an Uber driver that they spent fifty gajillion dollars on the sphere sound system.
Real talk, if you get fucked by Roo again without a fucking shuttle.... Groome Transportation. Gets you about 1.5 miles from Roo. They on Tues and Wed let people get lyfts in and they get sent to a certain side. Basically coming in a day early either saved me 130 dollars or equalled out the next day arrival.
unfortunately i've been informed it will be used for advertisements..
I’m ok with it having ads because 1) I do not live anywhere near the Sphere and 2) it’s probably going to be stuff like the NBA ad they have already on there that’s no worse than any other cool neon thing in Vegas. I continue to Stan the Sphere, especially now that I know that they put *multiple* eye designs on it.
Been preparing for the Vegas trip by googling “what the fuck is surrendering in blackjack” at least three times a day.
oh yeah i got more restaurant reviews. doesn't matter if you want them here they come cause i feel like typin:
Brera Osteria - in St. Mark's square in Venetian/Palazzo. Shit was awesome. fresh pasta. i got the pesto gnocchi which was pretty good but melody got this seafood pasta that was outstanding. reasonably priced for the strip, very nice setting, i saw big groups sitting there. great service but i couldn't really understand what he was saying because i'd been awake a long time.
CUT by Wolfgang Puck - this was our big fancy meal. we actually did pretty good on the check because we didn't get steak. which seems weird to not get steak at a steakhouse but we loved what we got. melody got this wagyu sashimi appetizer dish as her entree, it was so good. i got a scallop dish, it was on special, served with some kind of reduced corn that was like candy. so good i loved it. nice environment that wasn't loud which was nice. our servers were great, brian and chip they were cool. they had these tempura onion rings that were legit. also Kung Pao Cauliflower was awesome. i'd go back to this place in a second.
Best Friend - yeah you know about this already but surprise it was awesome again. got the Uni Dynamite Rice this time which was so good. also got this big ass ice cream sundae which was one of my favorite things. it had cotton candy on it.
Guy Fieri's Flavortown - we tried to eat here anyway. but after they didn't seat us for 10 minutes after our rez they told us that the kitchen was an hour behind and they didn't want to sit us without disclosing that. props to them for telling us though. ended up at MY Asia which was pretty decent pan-asian food at not terrible prices. also had a killer ice cream sundae.
Sushisamba - fuckin real awesome. cool setting. i'm not a big tapas guy (just make me a meal you know, don't make me buy a bunch of little foods) but would come back here for sure. the wagyu gyoza is maybe the best thing i ate all week. miso sea bass was also awesome. pricey so we didn't eat a lot but it was all good. this place feels like a good alternative to Nobu, cheaper and a much less busy menu, and honestly better. we got this desert called the Cafe Bom Bom that was also one of the best things I ate all week. Coffee panna cotta with a bunch of other cool shit in it. they had a bunch of desserts and actually offered an Ultimate Dessert Platter where you could try all of them, based on the strength of that one dessert i'd totally come here just for the dessert platter.
Bouchon - people go on and on about the brunch at Bouchon so we had brunch here. and while the setting is lovely and the service was good and quick the food itself was just OK? melody got the croque madame, i got the crab eggs benedict. it was all fine but didn't knock our socks off or anything. the free bread and butter they gave us was exceptional.
Miznon - new middle eastern quick service place in the venetiation, real good. you can get a whole roasted cauliflower and a bag of green beans.
Peppermill - finally made it to the Peppermill. unbeatable ambiance, i loved sitting in the lounge while we waited for our table. drinking coffee and watching 80s/90s music videos on TV. we got french toast and a fruit plate, food was just OK but i'd go back for sure.
