This past year was my first Roo experience, it was out of this world and Roo is on my mind every day. Anywhoo one of my favorite memories that stick out would be after rocking out at Kalliope all night on Friday me and my two buddies started the long track back to Pod 1 as the sun was rising. As we're walking they must of switched DJ's at Kalliope and there was a second of silence and then you hear the opening music to The Lion King followed by a very excited DJ yelling GOOOD MORNING BONNAROOOOO! followed by cheers from the crowd. It was one of the greatest moments of the trip for me.
Was walking to get a grilled cheese when this happened
luva and I saw a couple gettin' it at the Cherub set this year. Actually it was more like the guy was nearly out of it laying on the ground and the girl was riding a little too hard for the glazed look on her face.
...we also saw the sun rise. That was pretty crazy and felt dangerous when I realized I wanted to wake up kinda early that morning.

Bonnaroo 2011 Memory First time at Bonnaroo, hadn't been prepared for the LN shows, so my friends and I went back to the campsite to take a nap before STS9, set my alarm for "1:30am", woke up at 8am. Set my alarm for 1:30pm instead and missed STS9, which was one of the shows we had been looking forward to the most...

I'm sorry these stories just make me laugh cause my whole time would be ruined if I missed a show I planned to see.
Well just getting to the farm last year was incredible in itself. The fact I got to see so many great artists was awesome. But I think watching groups of people almost light themselves on fire during "We didn't start the fire" was incredibly ironic and makes me chuckle.

We did this in 2009. Didn't want to see Bruce Springsteen so we went back to camp to nap and totally slept through MGMT because our alarm never went off (of at least that's what my BF said...) Watching videos from that show still makes me sad.

Eh, dont be sad. mgmt was pretty terrible. We ended up leaving becuase they were boring and unengaging. No stage presence, kinda awkward.
Did anybody catch the Mars Volta LN set in 2005? If so, I have a question for you.
Yes. What's the question?
Great. Thanks, so I've been meaning to ask this for a while to someone who was at this set as well. This was my first late night set at Bonnaroo and consequently also my first mushro... well nevermind. Anyways, before the set started I have a very vivid memory of a small fire accidentally starting on stage, where several crew members quickly attended to it, and the moment the fire was put out the stage went black and then the purple overhead lights came on and there was Omar and Cedric.

It was my first late night show as well. I wasn't up front so I couldn't really tell what was going on up there. I know it seemed like forever for them to come on and I think I've heard that there was a fire.

Same here, I was off to the side a little bit so I couldn't fully see the stage. I do remember the delay for the show to start, I thought I remember hearing at the time that it was an electrical issue holding up the show. I know during the delay that I could see the members of Mars Volta off to the side of the stage going through like a stretch routine to loosen up and when they finally did come out either Cedric or Omar making a comment to the effect of "The delay was God taking a shit on us".
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

Thanks sang! I remember the long delay after Saul Williams as well. At the time, I thought this small fire all part of the Mars Volta show -- kind of like how Cedric would just sit down during a wild jam to have a cup of tea. I guess I'll never know if this was contrived or actually occurred.
Being very close to the stage at St Vincent towards the front . Only to be carried out by security moments later for reasons I will not describe haha let's just say legs stopped working . The next day while at the Sonic Stage I was describing my experience to a stranger I was sitting next to, and they laughed and said Oh my god that was you I saw that lol. It was my first Bonnaroo but definitely not my first festival nor was it the first time my legs stopped working lol. But Bonnaroo staff did a great job getting me to safety before St Vincent jumped into where I was standing and got me water almost immediately. Moral of the story is Bonnaroo staff and security actually cares and it was nice to see everything was still in my pockets lol.
I forgot who was on stage, but it was the What stage and we were near the soundboard and you could see the crowd parting as someone was being carried out. This young girl was laid practically at my feet and semi-conscious and friends and I began to fan her and offer her water. Two of us turned to the man who had carried her out and said, please leave, you are definitely not helping the situation! Why would we say that to this kind soul? Well, he was dressed full on as papa smurf, blue paint and all. Thankfully the girl was fine, but it was just one of those Bonnaroo moments.
