During Elton John (or maybe it was Jack White...) people were lighting those paper lanterns. They always make me nervous because my luck is such that one lit near me would fall out of the sky and set me on fire. The group I was watching lit about 4 or 5 of them that went up okay. They lit the next one, it went about 6 feet and the side caught on fire. There was a collective gasp from the crowd, and some shuffling to get away, and people just stood there squealing and looking terrified as it started to come down really slowly. Eventually a guy burst through the crowd, jumped up and snatched it out of the air, threw it on the ground and stomped out the fire. That whole section of the field erupted into applause for the guy.
OH, and during Vampire Weekend my friends and I were standing side by side right in front of the sound tower area, and we were kinda at the edge of what had become the walkway for people getting through the crowd. The crowd shifted (as it does) and the people that were on the other side of the "walkway" wound up right in front of us. It was a group of several dudes, one of which was SUPER DRUNK. Like, leaning on his friend to stand. Another guy who was making his way through the crowd and was also pretty trashed comes pat right as they started Giving Up the Gun, so he stops to "WOOOOOOO" and starts dancing. Well, that must have been drunk guy #1's jam too, because he stopped propping himself up to dance. But, because of where drunk guy #2 stopped to woo and dance, they accidentally wound up dancing all up on each other and didn't realize it for about 2 minutes. When the figured it out there was a bunch of "oh sorry dudes" and the second guy moved on. The first guys friends were laughing their asses off.
AND: (sorry I have so many) That evening at Vampire Weekend, the sunset was beautiful.
My favorite Bonnaroo memory came in 2013. Jack Johnson was subbing in for Mumford & Sons, and I had no interest in seeing Jack Johnson. So I decided to get on the rail for the John Oates & Jim James Superjam. As the show was getting ready to start, a rather short girl tapped me on the back and asked if I would let her in front so she could see. I said yes, with my only condition being that she helps me get a setlist at the end. She agreed, and we danced throughout the set.
When the show ended, they started throwing out the setlists in the crowd. One came in our direction, as me, her, and two others got our hands on it. Eventually, we were able to pull the other two away and she gave it to me. I later was able to get John Oates to sign it.

My favorite Bonnaroo memory is from this year, 2015. I had recently torn my ACL and had just had knee surgery. I had been waiting in the front at This Tent (I think) as soon as the first band had come on. So, after waiting through every act, finally, it's time for Mac Demarco, who I assumed would be my favorite set. So, I'm behind a very tall guy, and can barely see, not to mention my knee is hurting like a bitch from all the standing and dancing and jumping (oops)... Eventually, Mac's band says to get on someone's shoulders for Ode to Viceroy, so the tall guy turns to me and offers me his back, which is just the sweetest gesture ever. I felt so alone because none of my friends had gone with me on Thursday. My highlight of the whole fest was that song. It was perfect. It was getting cooler outside, and I just felt so happy and blissful and welcomed! He let me stay in front of him for the whole remainder of the set, too. Later on in the set, Mac crowdsurfed, and me and the guy ended up touching him, and we screamed and hugged we were so excited. I'll never forget how kind he was and just how that one show set the whole tone for my Roo. It was amazing. :')
