I caught Elton John a couple of months ago and it was an awesome concert. If they go back to booking a legendary act, I'd love to see either him or (don't hate me for this, I've been begging for Prince and now that's never going to happen) Mellencamp. I think he'd be a lot of fun to catch on the beach. And I'm never going to stop begging for Phish.
Old white men are out. Enjoy Twenty One Pilots, Deadmau5, and if you're lucky Arcade Fire but more than likely the return of RHCP to serenade you setlist heavy on their new mediocre songs. Gonna have to check your assthhole. No refillable ecigs, sunscreen, or anything else you need to not be miserable inside allowed. Oh and by the way NO SUN GLASSES in 2017. You are triggering people when they think you're staring at them.

Definitely a fan of old white men. Ray LaMontagne in July and Amos Lee September 16 at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville. Gotta try and make those and always good at Hangout. Considering John Prine Friday night in Chattanooga but tix about gone.
I'm pretty excited about seeing Umphrey's at Red Rocks next week (first RR trip), plus they just announced a 2 night Halloween run in STL. We're also going down to Chucktown Ball in Charleston, SC September 23, 4 sets of Umph with The Floozies Friday and Moon Taxi Saturday. Next year, we scale back. The boys will both be in law school and dad is getting tired. I'll definitely go to Hangout and SummerCamp, but that's all I'm planning.
me and cmack are literally talking about planning an Umph run right now. Im debating the Chuck Ball if the drive is reasonable and he thinks they may be in Chicago for NYE so got our eyes on that and now this is great news of the STL shows, might be doable.
Umph has an aftershow for North Coast listed on their site for 9/3 but tickets aren't available yet so I'm hoping those don't sell out real quick and we're gonna hit that show up. I would be all over an NYE run with them but I have a wedding New Years Eve and my honeymoon is the first week of January starting on the 1st so I'd be pissssssed if they picked this year to do that run in Chicago.

Those Halloween shows are going to be mash-ups, and they're always alot of fun. Let me know if you make it into town, we'll have a drink.
Theh should co headline something w Lotus. People need to quit getting married and ruining other people's fest plans .
Lotus new album July 15th, if anyone other than Esteban and I give shits.
Caring, but not super optimistic on that album like I told you. To intentionally simplify compositions is usually a bad move and direction at least in my anti-commercial opinion. I think I read a few months ago that they had the album done for over a year. I don't know, write ups say the album is a partial ode to Talking Heads. So if you are going to embrace a more commercially friendly element, there are worse directions to go in. But still, that's an ultra-talented band who is also my favorite general band to see live. And they've made a living off of 8-10-12 minute improvisations and jams. I get them in October, and I'm hopeful I won't be disappointed. They played my favorite show each of 2014 and 2015. And that's out of what I hope is obvious, I see a ton of shows.
At this point, they're established and successful so I'm happy with whatever direction they go. Clearly, if they wanted more mainstream success, they would go in a Talking Heads direction. I just need to not get so blitzed before their shows. Waka was a blast though.
John Mayer / DeadmauFive / Lindsey Buckingham with Stevie Knicks Warren Haynes / Twenty-One Pilots / Kygo / Chris Cornell / Lecrae Beach House / Cheap Trick / Blackberry Smoke / Umphrey's McGee
Chris Stapleton was my favorite show at Bonnaroo this year...not sure he would fit in on the beach though. I purchased John Mayer's live "Where the Light Is" from LA and I'd love to see that show as a headliner for Hangout....dude can play guitar and damn good backing band too. I am dreaming with Buckingham-Knicks, but most of you weren't there, wouldn't understand. They could still pull off a heck of a show and would love to see and hear them. Hangout should go big for those two and John and let the lower tiered acts fall where they may. DeadmauFive would make for a good filling on Saturday night between the other two.
Damn. Was that dude affiliated with one of the New York City teams In the National Basketball Association? Maybe he was that long socks wearing guard at SW1A 1AA UK.
Why not just book Fleetwood Mac if you're gonna book Buckingham and Nicks? They have been one of the better classic bands I have seen and holy crap Buckingham can play the guitar. Him and Mayer are probably the best guitarists I have seen live
