anyone notice life is beautiful is killing it with their lineup. thinking about dumping acl to hop on that fun train.
Life Is Beautiful is a contender for the worst lineup of 2016. The undercard has a few gems, but that top 5 is hideous.
but truly the lumineer and g-cheezy do blow but i never count on seeing more then half of the top 6 artists if that. i'm more so interested in the party that will be: major lazer, bassnectar, flume, chromeo, die antwoord, zhu, GALANTIS, aluna, keysnkrates, mr carmack, autograf, mija, duke dumont, excision, snakehips, gramatik, snails & kamasi
Jesus christ you guys. I take an inforoo break for a few weeks and I come back to a board devolved into discussing jam bands and the merits of fucking Train?
Maybe I should just check back in when they drop the line up in October...
It's probably going to suck. And Jam Bands > Hangout

Fixed that for you.
But in all seriousness, I would love to see Jane's and Shins again... and that undercard has some cool stuff in it, but the majority of the top ten aren't doing it for me.

Plus U2 redoes Rattle and Hum (sic) to close Sunday. Dropping the super VIP if only....
...i never know how the sarcasm resonates on the board....so i literally saw Tonic a week ago at a hamburger/budweiser festival about 2 or 3 miles from my house...hadn't heard the name Tonic in years...read this thread, and train vs tonic seemed hilarious to me. ...but seriously.

U2 at Hangout sells out in .05 to .10 secs
But then all the cool motherfuckers would be back. They can't have that. I'm looking for you at Tool in a few months. Don't vag that shit.
Btw I haven't seen this shit in eons. Bad. Desire. I Stil Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. Currently Sunday Bloody Sunday on. That was a cool U2 era for sure in finishing up Unforgettable Fire/Joshua Tree era. Eno and Lanois made that shit. \m/

...somehow, u2 was, underated for a moment...yeah, that album is 80's fire!...not to diminish, because i think it stands up.
lol @ Tame Impala (2 sets) As mentioned above, that wouldn't happen, and if it did it'd be the same set twice.
UGH @ Jason Isbell anywhere near the top. That is some limpdick-lite garbage. I've seen the guy live and tried to give him a chance, even though I never gave any fucks about the DBT. I couldn't even sit through half of that wankery.
Guy would be perfect playing the Florabama, but headlining shit? Sch'mon.

lol, Tonic seems like an appropriate band to headline a Hamburger festival.
I don't get the Train love on here. Gonna admit that I am not going to check out their Zeppelin set because that sounds like a horrible idea. I'm not gonna listen to an O.A.R Pink Floyd set either, which will hopefully never happen.
Hamburger festival with Tonic sounds like a better time than Hangout 2016. I bet it was free or less than $10 to get in and there were no butthole checks or ecig & sunscreen bans.
U2 isn't getting booked at any US festival except maybe Coachella or Desert Trip 2. Anything that sells out stadiums like U2, Rolling Stones, Beyonce, etc would cost Hangout their ENTIRE talent budget. It would just be U2 playing. And them selling hamburgers. And I have never in my life heard of U2 fans referred to as "cool motherfuckers." If anything U2 fans are a bunch of middle aged mouth breathers that don't go to shows anymore except when U2 tours. Probably very similar to the majority of the Pearl Jam fan base. Only older and whiter. I will admit that I got to see U2 in 1997 at the superdome for free via radio promotion and they were great live. That trip included a bus ride there from Biloxi with free pizza and beer. They let my 17 year old ass drank beer. I think they assumed that I was in the air force like most of the other people on that bus.

idk i was more so going for that 2 hour set slot. Maybe its not quite 2 sets but its for sure longer then 1 of the normal hour-hour15 minute sets that most fests run with these days. they did 1-3 at roo and im sure that was better then the one hour they got at ACL last year.
Have you been to a few stadiums (Im assuming so...). I've never been to a stadium show, nor do I think I want to go. Unless I fork out large sums of Tubman's for decent seats or a "pit" of some sorts is available, I just don't think I'd ever have the desire to be on that large of a venue.
U2 on a line up poster would look absurd. I think performing in Bama to a bunch of drunken 25 yr old teenagers while they trash a perfectly nice beach is not quite Bono's demographic.

As much as I would love Tame Impala to be 'that kind of band', they obv aren't as evidenced by them chumping it with that short ass late night set at Roo.

*as evidenced by them playing the same exact setlist in order at every venue show. And just a shorter one at fests with time boundary conditions. #NotJustRoo

Stadium shows are awesome. Way better than you would imagine them to be. In fact, every one that I have been to has sounded better than most arena shows. In the last few years I saw Prince, Rolling Stones, Beyonce & Jay-Z, and Grateful Dead in stadiums and they all sounded great. Seeing Guns-N-Roses next month.
I'm currently lacking any stadiums locally. The largest venue we have in ATX I believe is COTA Amphitheater which sits at 14k. I still haven't seen a show there. Which led me to notice that Maroon 5 has performed there.
Maybe I'll wait til 21P's next album when they only play stadiums. 😉

FOH you're what? like an hour away from Houston? and 3 hours from Arlington?
Beyonce Sept 22 in Houston Guns N Roses Aug 3 in Arlington
I have to drive 2 hours to nola and 5 hours to Atlanta for most shows. If you're willing to drive 11 hours to fucking Gulf Shores to attend Hangout fest even when they have SHIT lineups, then just a couple hours for a stadium show is nothing. Drive back home afterwards and your only cost is ticket, gas, and parking for the most part. And most of the time you can score tickets for dirtcheap from stubhub.
Also anyone that missed The Cure this year should just go ahead and kill themselves. It's not going to get any better than that in 2016. No shows will top those this year.

I would have gone to one of the MSG shows had my friend given me a heads up and let me know he was going. When I realized he had purchased tickets, it was too late, and I already had plans for that weekend.
Wait Guns N Roses are playing Houston too on Aug 5th. And that is the only show that f'n Skrillex is opening. You have to go. And report back with video on how a stadium full of white trash reacts to hearing robots fucking at high volume for the first time. I almost want to drive out there and see them again a week after nola just to witness that.
