Not sure why I never thought of it but makes total sense for hangout to have 30 seconds to Mars. Seems like they fit the demo. For that paramore, panic at disco slot.

Have fun my friends! I'm headed to a dove field with my brother to collect some snacks. Dove poppers = filet dove breast, jalapeno, cream cheese, all rolled up in a slice of bacon, tooth picked together, and grilled. Mighty tasty with cold beer.

Read on one of the bonaroo threads that The Weeknd charges as much as McCartney now a days. If that's true we should get Paul this year to make up for having The Weeknd last year. I'm joking of course I know this will never happen but lemme say that Paul is still an excellent performer. Saw him in Nola a few years back and he played for 3 and a half hours playing piano, electric, acoustic, and even some ukulele for George
I would try to get out of my condo and do something else Hangout weekend with that schedule Zaitch. I like RHCP, Chris Stapleton (dude would be a fish out of water on the beach), Avett Brothers (a little), and Umph, but, seen all four and they are pretty much the only ones on the list I would be interested in seeing. This looks like a better lineup for a festival in Chicago. I am really hoping to see something with half of what you and Esteban like and half something for the other half of the crowd. There are just too many excellent musicians/performers out there that Hangout can sign up versus recycling the same bands or folks who do not fit on the beach very well. My opinion. I am sure plenty of folks disagree.
Yeah I agree Bob but I just don't think they're going to mix it up with the genres you enjoy. There's nothing wrong with them but they just don't pertain to mainstream festivals nowadays. Whether we like it or not, that's what Hangout is now. Just have to hope they throw in a enough solid acts to make the vaca worth it.
Some upcoming Nashville area performers that might work out for Hangout; Stevie Knicks, Elvis Costello, Kansas, Counting Crows, Grouplove, 21 Pilots, Needtobreathe, Bonnie Raitt, John Cougar Mellencamp, Griz, The Lumineers, Ryan Bingham, Blackberry Smoke. I expect Calvin Harris will headline at Hangout in 2017. His new single release "My Way" is beach pop. Some like and some don't TTB. They were really good at Lock'n. They will sell out three nights in Nashville. I see them at Hangout next year. If not headlining, closing Surf Stage (closer to my condo on east side!). A few of these performers would make Hangout 2017 worthwhile for me.
Anybody going to Gulf Shores shrimp fest this weekend? I prefer the crawfish fest in Pensacola, but probably stick around Nashville area for the fall. Love Middle Tennessee in the fall. Jack Daniels BBQ coming up and 41A music festival in Tullahoma this weekend. My friend is playing at noon. His album release is tomorrow night in Chattanooga. You can check it out on iTunes under Jesse Black.

We stopped up there on the way to Bonnarroo 2012. We breezed past the Jack Daniel's distillery without much more than a glance. But once I saw the sign for Tullahoma, I made my friend take the 20 minute ride up the hills to get to George Dickel Distillery so we could smuggle a couple of bottles of whiskey in with us. We skipped the tour and bought the booze.
Both tours are interesting. Dickle is a little smoother than straight black Jack IMO. Jack Honey is my favorite medicine.
There are a lot of neat things to do around here. Sewanee was the half way spot for gangsters heading from Chicago to Miami. University of South is a beautiful place to visit. The Moonpie festival in Bell Buckle usually features a bunch of drunk Vandy students and a lot of good food. A lot of festivals in the fall. Bring an appetite. The 41A Festival in Tullahoma features some decent cover bands and local home brews. Moonshine has become really popular around here. Now that my son is in Nashville, we are trying to do something new every weekend.
I actually sorta dig this one. But hate seeing Lana that high up bc I've seen her at Acl and she was terrible and sounded flat. I also hate seeing Acl headliners at hangout but seems to be at least one each year. Feel mumfords would fit hangout demo well but it'd be on outkast levels if Kendrick headlined that beach.

Agree on Lana but she fits the demo so much and as long as she's Friday or Saturday with an act in the tent I'm okay with it. I would think we're going to have some a female-lead act in the top 6-7 so she's an easy choice. Throw Shelter, Umph, or STS9 or something like that in the tent and I'm cool with it.

AM said they have no future plans to tour this year
thats until HO asks them to play.
And they say, "No". But seriously, I think they would be a good fit for Hangout. I just think that 2018 is more likely considering that they don't appear to be in any hurry to record a new album.
yea looks like Last Shadow Puppets wrapped up recently so i would guess AM gets working on the new album sometime in early 2017 and gear up for 2018 tour
the timing might end up making sense. They cancelled shows through the winter to finish the new album so it could line up for them to do another fest run, plus a tour is already expected once the album is released.
