Bastille was 24th at Lolla this year right behind Grimes who I believe was 11 ehre lsat year. I think they would more likely be on the 3rd line then the 2nd.
That was before their new album dropped, and now they're even bigger. "Good Grief" is charting really well. The album went to Top 5. At fests like Okeechobee, Firefly, Hangout....they'll be second line for sure.
The day Bastille is 2nd line and closing the Surf stage is the day this fest dies. They're fine as a sub on either stage with options to go to but saying they're second line is basically saying they're a top 6 act now and I cannot fathom that.

Looking at Hangout's lineup this year, Alabama Shakes and Flume were second line. Bastille would be a 3-4 line slot for sure. I take back my previous notion haha.
Considering how many popular edm acts hangout hasnt booked yet, it'd be pretty ridic for them to book Major Lazer again 2 years after they played. Still havent booked disclosure, kygo, or deadmau5 plus calvin technically never played. im not dying for any of them but it just wouldnt make sense to me.
I can wait on lineup release. The Arcade Fire - KOL -Kendrick Lamar with a 2016 like undercard would probably get me to another Hangout. I missed seeing everybody this past May. I don't believe 2017 will be all indie/hop/digital music. Gotta have faith.
Keep in mind, Hangout has been marketting itself as the festival that brings the most "in" artists. The Weeknd had a blow up late 15, 16. Same w Flo n Calvin was being heraled as "most paid DJ," along w an Undercards w grammy wins/noms like the A Shakes.
Ariana Grande - The 1975 - Jonas Brothers Reunion
Ariana Grande and Jonas Brothers Reunion would actually be awesome. Also this One Last Night x Watch Me Whip mashup is gold. https%3A//soundcloud.com/vapordog/watch-me-whip-one-last-time

I would take this all day Bob. Not getting my hopes up though. If they dropped that top 3 with like Kygo (cus there has to be edm in the top 6) | Lorde | The National I'd be there no questions asked.

Honestly I think that top 3 is far and beyond better than last years. I'd be pumped about finally seeing AF and Kendrick has been great both times I've seen him. I don't hate KoL as much as most on here, but put anything mildly interesting in the tent that's probably where you'd find me.
I'm in the middle of a decent run of shows: WSP>Violent Femmes>All Them Witches>The Main Squeeze>Blitzen Trapper>Phish(Charleston)>Phish(Atl)>Hulaween ...it's times like these that allow me to accept the bare minimum from the HO...3-4 good bands a day and i'm fine.
Vampire Weekend, Pearl Jam, Bruno Mars 21P, Thievery Corp., Smashing Pumkins
I'd go back for Pearl Jam, Thievery and Pumpkins. I've seen them all though the Pumpkins and Thievery just once (Pearl Jam probably 4 or 5 or so). I have no interest but don't hate Mars or Vampire. I don't really get the appeal of 21 Pilots as it's not something that appeals to me (or actually any of my kids either). Throw me some other bones of actually decent musical acts like The Roots, Sound Tribe, Hundred Waters, a couple decent rappers and DJ's (though they blew their wad on good DJ's I would want to see in 2014 and 2015 in my opinion) and I'd consider it. No way this is going to go like you say though.
It's more going to be like Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, 21 Pilots, Chromeo, Kygo, Kaskade, etc. I mean, give me f'n Bassnectar 3 sets and 3 days of over-zealous bass heads over any of that. Oh, and Motorhead or Chris Cornell aren't going to be there

And that myself. Just saw all that shit this weekend (Lotus, Papadosio, Lettuce, P'Funk, Flaming Lips, Karl Denson, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, Gravity A, etc.). I have Chance the Rapper next week. Then GRiZ the week after that. Then Voodoo (Tool, bitch). Then Tauk. Then Animal Collective. Then Day for Night. Then Pretty Lights NYE. So I'm pretty set at this point, though a metal buddy of mine wants me to go to Napalm Death with him this weekend (already seen them, but might be willing to do it again as their sound was fucked up last time I did) but also New Mastersounds are in town - and I like them better than Napalm Death.
I think Zaj has it pretty locked. RCHP or Green Day. Kendrick or Chance. And I think that is as close as it gets. Until they drop the line up with shit no one expected. Note: I don't think I'd make it back though.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hangout booked Bieber. He performed at Virgin Record fest in the UK. It would sell out.
I've seen some semi-credible sources say Bieber will be out of the limelight for quite awhile after his tour finishes. He's become a junkie. I can't see any fest even entertaining the idea besides maybe Made in America.
Yeah i was thinking basically the same thing as Zaj, Lana would make me sad and peppers are a solid alright (I didn't go to their last HoF appearance). I'd rather see a frank ocean if they aren't going pop but that's unlikely imo Edit: also I would add Anderson .Paak and the free nationals to that list

There has been a bunch of Green Day talk but they seem to have a couple mo ths off between continents. Play the US, a couple months off, play Europe, a couple months off, play Australia. Seems odd they would then rush from Australia to a Hangout show a week later. Possible, but seems somewhat unlikely.
Coldplay just put out a teaser gif on twitter for 2017 but I cant make all of it out. looks like there will be US dates though. FL (Florida I'm assuming) is the closest one I could make out that may be near Hangout.
I don't see how we won't get Anderson Paak. I'm down for Bastille too even though most of y'all aren't.
Saw Mumford last night. Dudes seem like they are totally over their old, folky tunes and want to focus on their new sound. I think it was actually painful for them to play tunes like Little Lion Man and I Will Wait (or whatever that one's called). They played a couple of new songs last night one sounded especially "new country" and the other was more like the stuff on their latest album. Apparently they are done touring for a while and are headed back to the studio. Interesting to see how this works with their fan following.
Also PS if any of you are ever looking at seeing a show at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre of any reason, don't. Might be one of the worst places I've seen a show.
