I hate Coldplay and I'd still be in for this. Bastille will be higher than 5th line. I like all of the hip hop options outside of G Easy and although nothing unique really outside of Gorillaz there are a lot of fest bands I would like to see.

Yeah man I tried to keep it somewhat as realistic as I could and good. Yes Gorillaz was just my fantasy Headliner honestly. And G-easy just seems like he's likely but I actually like him but understand a lot of people not liking him at the same time lol. And yeah I like Bastille to somewhat but sad that you're right about them being that high billed too. But would like to see a lot of this not a lot but a lot
Coldplay are way too big at this point to play The Hangout
Idk about that. They were 3rd at Lolla (and 4th at ACL) in 2011, and it's not like their stock has risen much since then. They would probably be a #1, but I don't think they're outside Hangout's price range.

Have you seen their new tour dates? They are playing stadiums now. That wasn't the case in 2011.
it feels like Coldplay will be hitting some US fests before they head overseas and there arent that many to pick from before June. Them playing stadiums doesnt make them to big for this if thats what your trying to say. Remember they plaid the weaknd a million plus to headline this year so its not like anyone is really out of their price range now.

Valid point. But Foo Fighters also played a handful of stadiums the year they headlined Hangout (2015).

Foos didn't start playing stadiums in the states until 2015. Agree to disagree on Coldplay being too big for this fest, but people in this thread consistently overestimate the level of headliners that this fest can book.

Coldplay did just play MIA n that seems to ben around the same scale. I think there anything is possible. I imagine bands ask for much more if they have to halt a tour n fly across the ocean for a fest as opposed to just making a fest apart of a normal stop.

i agree that people completely overestimate this fest, i dont see them ever booking the likes of macca or radiohead, but i dont think coldplay is anywhere near that spectrum.
eh no one would have ever thought Firefly would book McCartney or shit even LouFest being able to book LCD. No one ever seriously predicts the mega acts, we just hope from time to time when one is active.
Makes a ton of sense given the tour schedule and the demo they're going for. They'll move tickets for sure. Even though I don't despise them like most on here, that will probably be one of the worst crowds in Hangout history. Just have 'em play Friday oppo some1 legit in the tent.

Goldenvoice is running the show now. They can book whoever the fuck they want. I don't expect them to put that $$$ towards the likes of Macca/Radiohead/Roger Waters/etc. like someone mentioned, but Coldplay would absolutely kill it as far as gaining interest from their target demographic.
I would stay home. I think my renters insurance would cover me for losses due to a lineup like this. I would rather spend the weekend at Florabama on an off weekend and save a couple thousand dollars.

Surf and Main are on complete opposite sides of the beach and run at alternating times so there is literally zero sound bleed at all. I honestly prefer it that way.
