I have no recollection how the longinus vs. CheesedickOrDie76 beef got started, nor do I care to recollect, but it is my current favorite inforoo rivalry.
It began when a little boy from a small town in lower Alabama met the two giants of music knowledge and concert-going named Sarge and Longinus on the muddy plains on Orleans parish on a dark Halloween night. They were smitten by his millineal zeal and snotty pride and could only show anguish toward the experienced elder Esteban who introduced the two. From this point forth hitherto, a long lasting rivalry of musical tastes prevailed on the noble forums of Inforoo......
I would argue that it started before that. When little boy began shit-posting in hangout thread EVERY FUCKING DAY.

I love all my judgmental gen X wooks equally Longinus.
Mixed bag as expected with some awesome and some suck.
Suck: Weeknd, Chainsmokers,
Not Suck: Tool, Puscifer, STS9, Beats Antique, Gramatik, Mutemath, Claypool Lennon, Ghost, Excision, Arcade Fire
Don't care: G Easy, Die Antwoord
Will have to investigate the bottom. Initial look is pretty happy. If Cage, Foals, Reignwolf and Shaky Graves end up good, could be a better Voodoo. My daughter said Gates was fun this weekend but he kept stopping to talk.
Always top heavy. It's pretty much what this fest is known for. I'm happy we got Puscifer, Ghost, & Claypool Lennon Delirium. Tool & Arcade Fire + those is worth my $100 early bird all day.
You didn't see Reignwolf when he played Voodoo a couple years ago? I missed his fest set, but saw his cheap late night with like 2 dozen people. That shit was great. Ever better than his Hangout set that year.
The fucking Weeknd, seriously? Wishing I hadn't shit talked RHCP now. It's like they're trying to encourage day pass sales over weekend passes.
No LCD? No Profit$?
That second line is pretty embarrassing. Cage the Elephant and Band of Horses in the second line? I've seen both and those are 6th line bands.
There is a lot of solid stuff on here but also a ton of bullshit. Seems pretty EDM lite, will the mollyheaded millennials buy tickets to that Le Plur lineup?
That's a joke, of course they will, as long as their is some generic laptop disco going they'll be able to keep the loud conversations going all night.
I felt like I had to Spotify "Black Tiger Sex Machine" as soon as I saw the name... Do not Spotify "Black Tiger Sex Machine."
I saw them at Hangout last year for 5 minutes and left. ----------- As for Reignwolf, yeah, I saw him and his band. I liked both that set and Hangout. He was great at Voodoo. But he's pretty eccentric, so I didn't want to assume he would be great again (though I'm thinking yeah, he will rock). I'll be at that.
Also, no telling if more will trickle in along the way. Voodoo always added through August, but I have zero clue as to whether nor not C3 will do additions.

Tickets are only $140. Tool and Arcade Fire on Halloween weekend in New Orleans at that price tag, is kind of a good deal. If you are local to the greater New Orleans area that is.
Tool Arcade Fire Puscifer Claypool Lennon Delirium Ghost Die Antwoord Foals (everyone said the Hangout shot was the best all weekend) Beats Antique Mutemath STS9 (hopefully during Weaknd) Charles Bradley PHJB Reignwolf All Them Witches (don't know much but hear they're good) Bully (are they good? Are they the band that just toured with this Diet Cig ppl were hyping?) Bob Moses (Esteban says he was hetti) Band of Horses (good music to eat food to or sit under a tree or something)
I'm happy for $100. Just need to add LCD, Ween, Prophets or Tame Impala.

Saw BTSM at waka at 5am because....I wanted to stay up all night and that was all there was.
I don't think Ill make this. There is a lot of good on here but not enough. If LCD replaced the Weeknd, Im there.
Mutemath - STS9 next to each other is fantastic. Estaban def go see Foals.
Yeah he just had to crash the party, and make Hangout look even more silly when they were so proud to proclaim "The Weeknd's only festival of 2016". No honor for exclusive contracts/seasons/poster claims/fiscal years.
Glad my long ago Arcade Fire guess came through. I'm saddened that other plans may have to cause me to miss the first two days of the fest. I was hoping they'd split the daily lineups on the poster. Praying Sunday is strong, and includes any combo of the following...
I'd see - Tool, Arcade Fire, die antwoord, foals, ghost, Puscifer, sts9, claypool/lennon, anderson.paak, pres.hall, Charles Bradley, shakey graves, bob moses, chairlift, all them witches.

When Does the schedule usually drop....because if STS9 plays during the Weaknd, that would wash the situation.
On Bob Moses, that's kind of a different thing. Phi got us tickets to the sold out show at Hi-Ho. It's 2 guys who play sort of live, light house but more in a little of a psychedelic way. I'm not a huge fan, but I respect them. I'd pass by barring a conflict, but they wouldn't be in my Top 5 electronic (loosely defined) at Voodoo. I think Gramatik, Beats, Snails, and Excision are the best EDM acts, but I've seen them all and would again. Again, I don't hate Did Antwoord at all, but they aren't really an act that does anything for me.
My daughter said Gates was fun this weekend but he kept stopping to talk.
She isn't wrong. Saw him two years ago [opening for B.o.B. no less], he'll rap one verse and then the modern classic air horn blares out, and he begins to rant about women, alcohol or something religious. It's a sight to see, but if* you're into musical performances, he lacks it.
