Has anybody done a show at City Winery yet? I just got tix for Blitzen Trapper and I'm sure I'll do one of the Kevin Kinney shows during his residency....looks pretty cool.
Holy crap you guys, September 11th is one hell of a conflict. On that day we've got Mutual Benefit, Joanna Newsom, One Music Fest, and Television in Athens. I'm distraught that all those things conflict.
Saw Kevn Kinney/Peter Buck at City Winery last night. It was basically DnC with Peter but they played almost exclusively stuff off of Kevn's solo albums. There was a young girl from Athens that added the violin on a lot of songs. Col. Bruce played a few tunes as well and his new guitarist (Tyler...couldn't make out the last name) sat in on a bunch of songs. Fun show.
The venue is cool. Only sit in vip, which is just a raised section in the back, if you're in one of the front tables. Otherwise, you'll have a better view from the floor.
Got free VIP and Floor section for STS9 tonight. Anybody here?
How was it? I had free lawn tix but passed due to some over exertion in the sun earlier yesterday...
It was awesome! They had three sets, the first being an acoustic one. It was a really long show but I guess that's what you should expect at STS9. They started around 7:15 and ended around 11:30 I think.

There's a lot on my maybe list for this weekend, but i'm not sure any of it is going to work out: Gov't Mule, John Brown's Body, Isbell and Ritter, Violent Femmes. I am definitely going to All Them Witches next Wednesday though.

That would be Boulder's Fox Theater. I get excited for shows at the wrong Fox at least a couple times a year.

Sturgill Simpson just sold out The Fox in under 5 minutes. I got two for myself while my friend was stuck in the ticket waiting room. After I checked out I went back to try for him and all tickets were gone.
This all took place while I was listening to Partyup by Prince so I guess technically it sold out in under 4 minutes and 24 seconds.
Chance the Rapper playing playing Lakewood June 11. Tickets on sale at 7p tonight on Livenation.
RIP in peace bonnaroo.
in other news I picked up a pair of Metallica fields today at a shockingly high price. About $188/apiece. Unreal, I'm such a sucker. But screw it, my wife has never seen Metallica and they are one of my all time favorites, so here we go.

Yeah, the prices for that show are outrageous. I've had terrible luck getting tickets lately so I'm looking for 2 to Radiohead and 1 or 2 to Midnight Oil.
