The only song I would like to hear at Roo that they didn't play last night was Sound of Silver....overall though a solid setlist. The videos seemed like they haven't missed a beat.
Anyone else having the issue where none of the folks their going to Roo with like LCD? Or just any of their friends in general? Even all my pals going to Wayhome aren't digging it. It's killing me !
YES. It's so frustrating. I'll try to play some LCD for my groop and the sentiment always seems to be along the lines of "it's not bad but it's not getting me excited". I don't get it haha they're easily the headliner I'm most looking forward to.

Sadly there are many people who don't have the patience to listen to a ten second intro even if it was the opening to the best song ever written in their favorite genre. LCD have an abnormally large number of songs that require you listen to the entire minutes-long build for the payoff to eventually be nearly as meaningful. There must be gaggles of itchy jingle worshippers that never even got to the breakdown in Dance Yrself Clean before writing the band off completely and putting Macklemore back on.

Just gotta convince them all to embrace the build.

you realize that's like talking someone into liking Phish, right? Dissonance is very rarely embraced by the lazy/casual music fan. Plenty of people go to the movies to escape their brain and just prefer to have their film fun that way. I don't hate them for it though a lot of shitty art gets made for their sake in lieu of something that might elevate people in one way or another.
Note: I'm not lumping all people that don't like LCD into my above description but I do think impatience plays a large role. Same people that can't keep quiet through the set-up of an elaborate joke at a comedy club.

The casual fan would probably just try to identify LCD as a rock band anyways and miss the whole dance aspect. I understand how some wouldn't get it. In the same way they probably wouldn't appreciate post-rock.
I was ecstatic for Hot Chip at Lolla. A small group of us got down properly while the majority of the crowd (waiting around for The Weeknd) stood puzzled. Funny because almost the exact same thing happened at LCD-Coachella before Jay-Z.

The opposite. All my friends like LCD but none are coming to Roo.
Well we've got 72 days to become friends. My favorite color is blue. Yours?

I've had this same experience with introducing some people to Darkside's music. They can't get past those first 4 or so minutes of minimalistic build-up on 'Golden Arrow' before the song really gets going, and just write them off completely because they think the whole album will sound like that.

I find the best way to get into an album like that is to put it on during a long car ride. Breaking it up into chunks weakens the impact.
Getting pho right now before heading into the show and for some reason the excitement hasn't it me yet. It's almost like my mind refuses to believe what's about to happen

Going to need a full report in the morning.
They haven't come on yet and I feel wicked pukey I dunno if it's something I ate but Jesus Christ this better not ruin my night

How it go last night?
Full report when I get home later today, but it was stellar

Looks like they responded to this post last night.
I can't fucking wait. Not even listening to J Cole before LCD can bring my mood down. I actually kind of prefer it because it will go from "Holy shit this is the worst music I've ever heard" into LCD. The contrast will make it that much sweeter.
Got my LCD at red rocks tickets. I usually try to avoid doubling up my Roo headliners but in 2016 I'm seeing 3 LCD shows, 2 Pearl Jam shows and at least 4 Ween shows. No regrets.
