Long time lurker and modest poster here. Just wanted to say how excited I am for my first experience at Osheaga in the beautiful city of Montreal. I am only going Sunday but would love to meet some more Inforoo people at the festival. Few questions for vets: are the two main stages right next to each other? If so, how crowded does it get on the cement area? Also, I've seen pictures but obviously cannot grasp the full scope - how are the grounds overall? See you in Montreal for Radiohead!
We need to meet up! I have a feeling I saw your face at brunch but I didnt actually meet you.
Definitely possible. I didn't stick around very long because I thought I was going to fall over haha! Met a few folks and then ducked out. Few beers in Montreal though for sure!

Two main stages are right next to each other, yes. There's a rail separating the two crowds on either side, and it;s very easy to get close for the upcoming set on the other side if you don't mind not having the greatest view for whoever is currently playing.
Not sure what you mean by cement area though? Its's gravel and rocks in front of the stages and that leads back to the hill which is covered a combination of grass, rocks, picnic tables and mats. The hill is typically crowded from the start of the day until everyone piles onto the metro.
so for anyone who has been before, is there anything essential i (or any other first timers) should know? i was reading through the website and it seems like we're not allowed to bring spray sunscreen, is that actually enforced? i saw that we can bring a single water bottle, but are camelbaks fine?

Nothing too major. As long as you're staying somewhere downtown your commute should be fine on the metro. Google maps is your friend on that one. Usually a station within walking distance from most hotels, AirBNB's, etc. They'll all get you to the gold line, which takes you directly into the park.
The only thing you need to know is that when you leave at night, it's an absolute clusterfuck. The majority of the 40,000 people are heading to that metro to leave at once. Personally, I'll be renting a bike for the weekend

thank you. we're planning on bringing our bikes so we hopefully don't have to deal with the metro. i believe when i checked, our airbnb is a 10-15 minute bike ride to the park.

Thanks for the info! My bad about the cement; from the pictures it looked like it. Happy to hear about the two stages as I'm definitely looking to get close for Radiohead and (hopefully) M83 before them. Definitely thinking about the bike rental idea, too. Sounds like a smart plan. Cheers.
question about M83: I notice Mai Lan is a major fixture on a lot of the new album tracks but she doesn't seem to be apart of the band (I could be wrong). If she's not do they have someone sing her parts or is a recorded version played sort of like a DJ would do? Never seen them live but looking forward to it!
Android app works for me. Extremely happy with the schedule. Biggest conflict for me is Flume vs RHCP.
As for Terje. He's closing the Picnic Electronic stage against Lana. Kaytranada is on the same stage right before Terje. Gonna be such a good Saturday night avoiding Lana like the plague.
Sunday is so wel spread out, holy shit. No Mac Millee for me but it could've been so much worse.
The fact that I get to see the Arcs with no conflicts makes me ecstatic. Mac Miller is solid live but if you have already seen him it's not a big loss. You should join me for Lane 8 into Rufus Du Sol earlier in the day Sunday.
