OK, obviously without giving up information that you shouldn't - are there any unique acts here? I'm considering going to Montreal for a week and making this festival part of the trip...

Make it part of your trip.
Well, I mean - I might not make the trip. The lineup is what will make me and my friends go to Montreal for a week.

I almost pulled the trigger on this last year. Assuming there's not a ton of overlap with Gov. Ball and Shaky Knees I'm in. Osheaga has consistently put together some deep lineups and having a fancy game for the lineup drop doesn't hurt.
Ugh, this is frustrating. I've wanted to go to this the last couple years, but it's the only fest I'd go to where I'd need to pay for lodging, which has held me back previously. If I can somehow take all this time off for festivals this summer and convince some friends to go, I'll consider just based on your recommendation.
Can you tell us how much you know? Just headliners, whole lineup, or somewhere in between?

One of the best parts of this fest is the exchange rate. Dollars are worth more than Canadian dollars. Lodging, like everything else, really isn't that expensive. If this trip costs you more than $500 you are doing it wrong.

Flying from Texas and already watching the sites for a deal. Gotta say,you may be a few dollars shy here.

Yeah ticket price will probably be the deciding factor. I tend to find a free option for most bigger fests, whether it's volunteering or street team or something. Unfortunately Osheaga doesn't do a normal volunteer program

After the first three lines you have: The Avett Brothers, Caribou, Hot Chip, FKA Twigs, The Decemberists, The War on Drugs, St. Vincent, Milky Chance, Future Islands, Chet Faker, Angus Stone, Iron & Wine, Brand New, Young the Giant, Ms Mr, Glass Animals, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Shakey Graves, Bob Moses, Sylvan Esso, Twin Shadow, Run the Jewels, Gary Clark Jr., Grace Potter, Broods, First Aid Kit, Ryn Weaver, Guster, Arkells, James Bay, X Ambassadors, Father John Misty, Christine and the Queens, Banks, Tyler, the Creator, RL Grime. I'd say that qualifies as pretty deep for a festival this size.
If I'm looking to pair Osheaga with either Gov Ball or Bonnaroo, which pair would give me the best variety of artists? I'm not trying to be tricky, this is my actual debate haha
my bf can't do bonnaroo this year and we're thinking of trying this depending on the lineup. it's right around my birthday and i've always wanted to see montreal.

That list is before including, Florence and Kendrick, which were a couple of Roo headliners for a festival a fraction of the size. Toss in The Black Keys, OMAM, Nas, Alt-J, Ben Harper, Weezer, Edward Sharpe and Interpol and that's as solid as you're going to get for $175.
Not saying 2015 was one for the history books, but Osheaga had a lineup of artists with some of the best albums of 2015.

If they did book Radiohead, I think it'll affect the undercard big time. They're not known to pull massive headliners. Except that one time they booked Eminem

This is pretty close to Gov. Ball in attendance if I'm not mistaken, so they likely won't have any headliner that will break the bank, but they've always done an exceptional job booking up and coming artists before they're big.
